I remember very very very little from this series time to binge it all over again. This chapter was super adorable but again I remember almost nothing lol

I really love how everytime we have an update of this I always squeal of the sugar load between our cute love birds!! My reaction when shou said the magic wordssss ahhhhh!! Alsoooo daymm so one of umi's friends has a crush on her, welp sadly she only has her eyes for shou.

When Umi gets roped into friendship chocolate, Nae and Zumi seem to go "what?" and sweatdrop respectively. Do they suspect Umi has a girlfriend? Has Umi told them off-page? (I sure hope we didn't miss that.) Sadly, we don't revisit this.

I think it was more that they were confused why she was hesitating to join them in making the chocolates, but I agree on the speculation that she’s hiding something. I don’t think she’s told them. She told Shou that she wouldn’t and I don’t think she would break that.

It’s cute that Umi’s brother knows and supports her in his own way. I half expected him to say something more, but he recognized that she didn’t want to say anything yet and went along with it.

I do think their dorm mates know, or at the very least, heavily suspect that there’s something going on between them.

But such a cute chapter!! It’s always a good day when a chapter of this manga drops.

she actually revisited that with her more recently, with shou insisting that umi not force herself to hide it anymore (after shou read that novel about heartbreak their dormmate rec'd her and panicked). also this 100% came up with nae, where umi didn't say it but her reaction told nae everything and she congratulated her. so at least she knows umi's taken, even if not by who. zumi i have no idea though.

Okay, I reread and Nae seems to have caught on from two instances; one when she told everyone about what Ma-kun said and Umi said it’d be nice to have someone say that to her; and two when they were getting their love fortunes and Umi’s reaction to said fortune.

Zumi I think was after the festival that they went to together and she saw Umi and Shou walking to school together, with Shou fixing Umi’s hair.

So, yeah, those mixed with her hesitation about being in the single club with the others has them suspicious. But I don’t think she’s confirmed anything yet. That seems like something that wouldn’t happen offscreen, especially with Nae.

I reread everything today as well. Mari definitely knows, I think Zumi and Nacchan suspect, but I don't think either of them knows for sure, with Zumi maybe knowing its Shou and Nacchan I think suspects. Ibu would know if she wasn't so unaware of her own feelings, but the other three probably not. I'm not sure about Fuku, could go either way.

Stray thoughts I had:
Ibu strikes me as neurodivergent as well, but was lucky to have Yosshi and Umi as buffers so she wasn't isolated like Shou was.

Nacchan is the girl that lesbians fall for cause she's so friendly and are crushed to find out is straight.

Zumi is questioning so many things in her life, I think she might be questioning her sexuality now too.

Ah, 17.1 for the second one. "I knew it! Umi, you're dating someone, aren't you?" Whether Nae has connected this to Shou sleeping over with Umi in their hotel room, and Umi's general behavior, we dunno.

Chapter 12 for the first one. "Does that mean you have someone you like?"

Zumi, Ch 18 had "Umi seems to really like you, Segawa-san, she treats you totally differently", which made Shou mad, lol.

We can see Ibu noticing Umi and Shou together, like at the Xmas party; what she's concluded from it is a mystery.

Zumi is questioning so many things in her life, I think she might be questioning her sexuality now too.

There's still the theory that her "boyfriend" is actually a girlfriend. All we know is that she claims to have something so long-term that she doesn't need to call, and that she finds Amamatsu small-minded and stifling and can't wait to get away. Which is an interesting juxtaposition.

I still like to think of Nae as bi, or even more gay but "I need a husband to help run the farm". But she could be a very touchy-feely straight girl.

It's still weird how Ibu is "Koumoto" with Umi.

I wonder if the reason Ibu seems so hesitant to express her feelings for Umi has anything to do with why she had to leave her last dorm room. Maybe the roommate she got in a fight with was her girlfriend at the time, and they had a messy breakup? Maybe a confession gone wrong, or even if the rejection was amicable the fight was staged to avoid the awkwardness?
