Eh, I think the author themselves had at the end of a recent volume said that they now consider both couples to be main couples. I will have to dissent from what seems to be this comment section's primary opinion by stating that I love the og main couple more than the newer main couple. But both are great.

That aside, I both look forward to watching original anime because of the unknown story and maintain a cautious outlook on it because I've seen many go off the rails in the 20ish years I've been watching anime. I can't be bothered to scour my MAL for a list of them but Darling in the Franx and Aldnoah Zero are another 2 that immediately come to mind.
