Anyone else thinking about how stopping Kanna from flying back to America, to an American airport, might mean Joe is literally saving her life rn.

Three more weeks of hiatus for a good reason.

Change of scene to the airport.

Three chapters uncle and Kanna.

Time skip to the next day. We learn that:

a: The principal stormed in to play his favorite Aerosmith: "You See Me Crying"
b: Uncle called to tell Kanna left/stayed

Then they worry for another ten chapters about "What did that 'almost' kiss mean?"

Or something like that. I don't mind to much..

I know I will be probably the only one to think this, but if they do kiss after this scene, whether it's next chapter or not, I'll be disappointed.

The reason why is that we never got to see Mitsuki realizing her feelings for Aya. Nor even question her sexuality. But we got her internal monologue for other aspects of the story, so it's not like we are strangers to her internal process. For all we have been shown so far, while it's obvious that Aya have feeling for Mitsuki, the reverse could be false. Mitsuki could see Aya as just a really good friend and it wouldn't wrong how the story have been written so far. Of course, I know it's not the case, but for the sake of storytelling, it does bother me and break a bit the suspension of disbelief.

So in a way, if it were to happen now, it would feel fake for me. The chapter is great, and as much as I want to see them together, I do feel like it's missing some chapters of Mitsuki internal process to arrive to that result.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mitsuki doesn't question her own sexuality. Not everyone does. Particularly those who have already had to think about and protect their identity at a very young age from multiple fronts.

She's 18 now and has been an "I am what I am" kind of person since grade school. Joe and Kanna easily recognized and accepted Aya too which makes it seem like that isn't something revolutionary for their family about her either. She's had things to work out, including her issues with love, but sexuality isn't something I'm waiting for. The traditional sexuality realization story has been more Aya's side of things with Onii-san/Koga and her mom.

To me Mitsuki's feelings are something that runs parallel with her musical breakthroughs so you pay attention to where she is with one to see the other. It's been going on from the opening tap. Recently she wrote an EP with the band name "Me to You" and she played the band that Aya said she sounded like to find her at prom. Her realizing feelings has been happening the whole time.

Edit: also yeah sexuality was NEVER a question for Mitsuki, remember how she reciprocated Aya's feelings and flirted with her as "onii-san"? It's always been an issue of insecurities and focus for Mitsuki. She was in denial about the possibility Aya really liked her as "not a guy" for a long time, and got caught up in music and swarmed by new people right as Aya made her campaign to convince Mitsuki her feelings are real, and then even Aya seemed to go along with it and push her away and towards the crowd. That's really what got Mitsuki to this point, bouncing back from that crowd right into Aya's lips lol
