. . . ohhhhh god
I know it's a fantasy. I know it's fiction.
But the thought of trying to get a job again, as a young professional after a gap year in THIS economy? After having burned through all your back-up savings?

Got me chewing my nails thinking about trying to explain that in an interview. :' )

Hope this is one that only starts depressing but ends happily

Also echoing the many comments that this reminds me of Throw Away the Suit Together which I don't remember ever finishing.

Feels a lot like throw away the suits together, hope these 2 get a happier ending.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

I sincerely hope these two find love and peace and happiness... ... but my goodness, the subtext. Or is it just "the text" at this point, since I've seen it in so many manga? Sacrificing your life for a job... and it's not even so you can support a family; these two were barely supporting themselves! There is so much that is wrong with that... no one should have to live like that.

What's worse is that they place the blame mostly on themselves. "If we only had the goals, dreams, determination, bravery". No mention of "if our culture didn't demand we do this" or "if the fruits of our labor came back to us".

These girls did the right thing, and my heart weeps for anyone who is stuck in a position like this.

... I really hope this story doesn't end with "whelp, that was fun, but we're out of money and societal pressure is too much, so it's time to grow up for real and do the right thing... by heroically sacrificing our lives for a 'greater good' that never seems to include us."

Preach it, comrade! Lay down that needed class war!

From the vibes of this first chapter i feel this will be less depressing than other escapist works like it. But i also don't mind those kinds of stories because there is a ton of escapist yuri already.

Isn't so sad how we as a society see enjoying life having a slow day and having things to look forward to as chilish or regressing in age? Genuinely we should fight however we can against that but god is that hard in this economy. Gotta go eat some landlords i guess to truly get somewhere.

Man, that hit me right in the feels. What so many people don't realize is that your inner child doesn't go away when you grow up -- it's still there, and it's the part of you that enjoys simple comforts, that is playful, and that is curious about the world. If you bludgeon it into silence, like so many societies teach us to, you lose access to all of that, and then don't even have words to describe what it is you are missing. Just tears, it seems.

Feels a lot like throw away the suits together, hope these 2 get a happier ending.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

It seems like a key difference between Throw the Suit and this is that these ladies have set themselves a limit of one year for their disengagement from the society. They are under no illusions that they will have to go back to the "adult" world in the future, but for now, they are taking time to re-engage with themselves.

I reread the first chapter since I didn't remember it very well and it made me cry again. I relate a lot to these two, I feel the most alive when I'm not working.

This is so healing.

I feel the most alive when I'm not working.

Doesn't that mean that your work is literally killing you?

I love how good this manga feels. I love when i don't have work on a weekday and i can go shopping before it gets super busy. Life would be a lot better for everyone if most of us weren't forced to work so much.
