Would not have gotten at all that the death glare from Admin-chan meant that she was the mole without the note at the side (is there a word for that?). Not sure whether to consider that a failing of the manga, a failing of my own, or the editor overstepping a bit on the note.

Was Riko introduced before last chapter? Is that what the extra page is saying? Or was that the introduction it's talking about?

Well because I think it's wrongly translated?

My Japanese is not the best...I think the first sentence it kinda says "Is the admin (secretary) the mastermind?" (of that bully group) The two chapters before they mentioned a mastermind behind the bully group!!!
Maybe translator mixed things with mastermind and "inside man" but I know they use sometimes the same Kanjis for it because sometimes the inside man is the mastermind of all the plot?!

The second sentence is right!

Is it just me, or is the amount of text increasing with every chapter?

Also, if I were Toudou I'd be concerned with having disturbed the hornet's nest enough that the bad elements send people to rough her up on her way home or something. But then she does have a number of friends who could help with that, and even more willing to walk her home I'm sure.

there are some scenarios I can imagine of what's going to happen with the confrontation with the delinquents.

  1. Toudou may reassemble her team from Cops and Robbers, the Dodgeball Arcs chapters, and a few others to even up the score.
  2. some of the band members may want in on the fight. (although, it's unlikely since they finally got the admin's blessing to play in the festival.)
  3. catch them in the act with Hana and/or the school faculty seeing everything from afar or on video.
  4. or, Toudou will use the love potion (poison) on them. (yeah, it's been deviated from the story. but I'm throwing it out there for possible throwback...)

This is the word in question, literally "black curtain", it's a term originating in kabuki I believe. A wordier definition would be "Those who do not appear on the surface, who instruct and make a measure. behind the political world."

While "mastermind" is a valid translation, I'm being a little reserved in using something that would imply little Riko has a leadership role in whatever criminal organisation is shaping up. Koinami refers to a "queen" she is working for in a previous chapter, I translated as "her majesty" for the sake of clarity, but when we've seen this character in silhouette they clearly have braids, which Riko does not appear to. Additionally, Niina had no special reaction to Riko until the end, despite worrying about her failure becoming troublesome for Her Majesty.

A more direct translation that doesn't imply leadership necessarily is "fixer", but I shied away from that one as well because it's still entirely possible that Riko could do a hairflip to reveal her braids, and suddenly it turns out she's been Her Majesty the whole time. I've already had to pull off some fancy footwork with the whole detective arc in order to make previous translations and the big turnabout scene feel congruent, I didn't want to get myself into a situation where I had wrongly implied Riko was merely another lackey.

Hence, "inside man". we'd suspected there was someone inside the student council and Itsumi's proof left a clear opening for it, Niina got the code from someone else, and here at last we see who was inside the student council the whole time.

Is it just me, or is the amount of text increasing with every chapter?

Yes (._.;;) Appreciating now the reason I was able to fly through translating the dodgeball chapters is that there's not too much talking in an action sequence.

I honestly think this manga is started to lose focus a long time ago... And it began with such a funny premise too...

Really? I feel like it became more focused with time - It did stray away a little from the inital premise but it used it as a starting point to flesh out the characters and the lore further imo
If the series continued with the love potion shenanigans I think it would've been really repetitive - instead I really love how the silly joke manga managed to develop itself into an engaging plot with really lovable characters
The progression is slow, I'll admit that one, but I still think this is a well-focused story worth following

Y'know there's a such thing as too many fucking characters man. I've only got some many voices in the ol brain case I can attribute to each one.

Amazing...I admit, I never did like Mochi's art style much. It felt both flat and squishy at the same time...almost like a whoopee cushion.

But the more I read, the more I became attached to the characters. And now we have the entire feckin' class helping to fix a damaged prop - and it all started because one girl didn't like yuri.

It makes me wonder if she will eventually become yuri at some point.

Refresh my memory, folks.
Exactly at which point did the girl who had the bright idea of using love potions for nefarious purposes become the voice of reason in a chorus of insanity?
and,
Do they explain at any point what kind of drug they secretly difuse through the AC system of that school to justify the behaviour f that bunch of crazies, and/or which party is bhind said drug difusal?

Is her being haunted by some terrifying entity a new plot-point? Or is that something that got set up in one of the previous chapters and I just forgot about it?

While it is still too many characters, I'm glad we're beyond the "make sensei fall in love with me with a love potion, while this glasses perv licks me" and the "shounen battle cops and robbers" part of the manga.
Still enjoying it, but maybe once this arc wraps up, the cast can go down a step and the "main" girls can get more time. (Or maybe all of these girls are main girls and her harem is just that big.)

setting any romantic connections aside, i'm p sure all the girls from the class are here to stay, it's an ensemble cast.

I hope the thing that its haunting Itsumi becomes the next plot point. This chapter really felt like youth.

It is kinda funny seeing people regard Toudou as more noble than she sees herself.

"You only talk shit to inspire or admonish people."

"I talk smack when I feel like it without really thinking it through most of the time, but whatever."

Also chuckled at Yanagi basically going 'don't think this means you've won' with her hand up a girl's skirt.

So - there is that moment when Ouma's hair changes color, and she suddenly forgets what she had been doing. Right after that she suddenly start noticing that Toudou is haunted. I assume that means that Ouma had been haunted by the entity up till that moment, and that it jumped to the next host at this point.

Every chapter I read this and I wonder “how did we go from dumb little gag manga of a girl trying to get her male teacher to drink a love potion and messing it up and getting girls to fall for her instead, to THIS?” lol

I do love Mochi and this manga, but it’s just so WEIRD how it evolved over time. We went from “simple joke done a few different ways” to “overarching high school drama with 30+ distinct individual characters each with their own personalities, lore, and interconnected relationships, all set across various dramatic arcs where our brash yet charismatic heroine solves problems and pulls bitches through the power of “fuck you, get along!””

It’s gonna be so weird one of these days when I finally get around to rereading all this from chapter 1

C'mon, Mochi. You can easily add at least a dozen characters. This is n00b stuff!

I don't think so, because Ouma already saw the aura of Toudou's pervert friend in the past clinging to her body, and this current entity seems something entirely new.

I'll be honest, I was skeptical on how it changed midway. this should've ended a few volumes back if Toudou were to succeeded on getting with the male teacher. I think Mochi have pulled off the "Watamote / It's not my fault that I'm not popular" manga. the main character, Tomoko, went from being a gloomy, unsociable loner going thru various social anxiety gags to being an optimistic, sociable girl with her harem group. here, the love poison gag have slowly dissipated into story driven escapades.
