I think I failed to communicate properly. It was not this story alone that shapped my world.view on romance. I had personal experiences that made me start to observe the situation around and also some researches on the subject. Unfortunately, I don't feel optimistic about being in a relationship. But yes. I also saw people that worked really well, but the odds still don't seem worth it to me. I rather focus on my personal peace and self-growth. But as you wisely said: Whatever works for the individual.

That’s fair, and I think at least some focus on self-growth benefits both single life and relationships of every kind. Also I’ve seen various ugly sides to love myself, but I can be a stubborn individual so I hold onto some idealistic views. Plus I suppose I’m a bit of a hopeless romantic haha
