An ex-con is a pretty novel character to have in this kind of manga, no others really come to mind. The whole "without a mean bone in her body" kinda suggests it was a violent offense, but I don't think her sentence was much longer than a decade at most depending on the timings. Idk anything about Japanese law but that probably rules out murder?

I guess before they were kinda-sorta-not dating but now they're like actually together. So far it seems like we've only seen the edges of the relationships so one day I hope we get a kiss. Now that I think about its kind of ironic that the manga which characters are constantly drunk is rather restrained lol
