It felt that way for me because Frost seems to whip out her sword or threaten Claire's life at the drop of a hat, even if she doesn't mean to actually kill her. I probably wouldn't feel this way if it took at least a bit longer for Claire to feel something for her, tbh.

I don’t take the sword pull that seriously because Frost is an isolated knight that wants to put a barrier around herself, not to actually harm or kill Claire. I think Claire knows that and so she pushes in on Frost. It’s a situation where Frost is “dangerous” but also alluring, so Claire falling for Frost isn’t surprising or jarring to me. I enjoy their dynamic and both characters, and this is probably something we simply have to agree to disagree on, which is fine. I hope you find another series that’s more to your liking.

I totally get Claire is what I'm saying, because damn Frost is imposing but also incredibly beautiful. Also, after volume 2, some people said it's a little weird that she fell in love so fast, that's why I have this silly headcanon that she is gay af. In the beginning, she shows zero interest in love; she only reads romantic novels because of her sister, and she sees marriage as a business deal. But then, seeing that Frost is actually a woman, she gets gay panic, and her first idea is to confess her love, not spending a single second worrying about both of them being women. And since the story is set in a time when same sex relationship was a big no, she probably never even considered it as an option, so meeting Frost is her gay awakening (for me at least).

I also love that in this story, every strong, tall woman is controlled by a femme half their size.

umm....I thought MC had gradually fallen in love with Frost after seeing and witnessing all the different sides of Frost...I mean yeah MC did say Frost was very beautiful ("She's like a mythical goddess"- MC words with a small blush) when MC first saw her (Not knowing Frost was Black knight at the time and thinking she was BK's hidden mistress or something when wondering why such a hot woman is inside BK's room). I say it more like MC found Frost hot/attractive/beautiful and her feeling then gradually began to grow with each passing day and event till it become love.

The whole fell in love too fast part comment by some people...Eh...I guess everyone has their different tastes and opinions...though I guess it depends on the people involved in the relationship, how well they connect, what they went through and etc.

The whole sword to neck/throat thing at the start was harsh and totally jerkish by BK but from BK/Frost's POV...She was hiding a big secret about her gender/sex from the public which MC could have spill the beans about and MC's first start of noticing BK/Frost's subtle motion from her hand subtly slight shaking while holding a sword to her neck. Still jerkish and annoying habit by Frost but I can understand why frost/BK does that sometimes as a defense mechanism.

MC probably didn't know she was gay or Bi at the start...didn't have enough free time and chances to go to parties and interact with people considering her family's fking poor and she had to do housework + Take care of her sick little sister.
We saw MC's total shock face and expression after realizing when she had unconsciously kiss Frost/BK to snap her out of her depression and angst spiral lol

...MC might have been aiming for Frost/BL's money/fortunate (MC is even helping the tight money situation with a potential deal with merchant girl...they are honestly getting ripped off magic crystal prices without having powerful merchant connections) to get money to help save her sick little sister...but MC found herself slowly falling in love with Frost (The tall Somewhat Cold tsundere girl who 'was' afraid of people getting too close to her).

I think it's fair to call the relationship here somewhat abusive, but it's also important to remember Clarice literally holds Frost's life in her hands -- if she were to tell the king that Frost is a woman, she would be arrested and likely executed. I think Frost is acting in an understandable way given her precarious position and history of people betraying her.

I think outside of the abusive part I agree with you. It’s a difficult situation for both of them and they’re learning to navigate it. I think I also give more leeway than some because to me the feeling between them isn’t abusive, and that combined with this being a fictional fantasy world I also give a bit more leeway with certain dramatic and exaggerated elements.

Exactly how is the relationship abusive?

Frost literally wanted nothing to do with Clarice and was happy to let her to her own devices as long as the king would believe the marriage scam, so he would let her alone. She only acted out once Clarice barged into her private room and discovered her secret, and every time since, it was always Clarice forcing herself into whatever Frost was doing, much to her chagrin. If anything, Frost has the patience of a saint to have not really lashed out against a busybody like Clarice that just doesn't seem able to let her alone.

God forbid women do anything…

Hmm, would the king really have Frost executed if he found out? The Black Knight is the kingdom’s strongest military asset and a significant part of the economy. Could he if he tried?
Or would he try to come at the problem of Frost securing the family line from the other direction, and try to marry her himself or to one of his heirs?

Well, looking at the pacing in the magazine, its popularity probably dropped after volume 2. And even though I love this series, it has that problem that there is not a big arc you can get invested in, so I understand why people started to care less. I think the focus should have been more on the worldbuilding and fighting part or the romance, because it kinda ended up being either. Also, being featured in a big magazine is a blessing and a curse as well, it's easier to get axed since so many series are trying to get into it. Also, it was a big anniversary this year, and they started many new series (and probably axed older ones). I kinda knew it would happen after the latest chapter (given how characters acted and the story progressed), but still I hoped.

Right now, I'm only worried that the ending will be either rushed or really anticlimactic. I would be happier with an open ending where Frost is ready to start a real relationship with Clair and maybe rebuild the city.

I call this the 3-volume curse, where stories get axed after 3 volumes. It happened so many times that I always worry when a story reaches this part. It would be fun for the writer to continue this story in a novel format, but I follow them and I see how many other things they do, so this story will probably end here. I feel really sorry for them because, reading their journey, I can tell they were passionate and had many great ideas for this world. That's why I supported them with my money, but maybe I should have just created bots to vote for this series so it goes on forever :D
