I just realized, we got a separate tag for “pay for gay” and “prostitution” so, what’s the difference between the two?

Prostitution is specifically about sex workers (eg. Asumi-chan) whereas Pay for Gay is more about the broad money-in-exchange-for-yuriness genre, with potential for sfw activities. (Was formally "gay for pay", but was changed since that one implied the girls were just being gay for the money.)
