Last chapter of the volume, but it doesn't really feel like a last chapter... Maybe I'm remembering wrong and there is another volume after this?

Just one more extra chapter to come.

The trailer is awesome! It ends with Chika saying, I think, "Anata no sono bubun tokoro hontōni kirai" (I really hate that part of you!) and the seiyuu sounds just like I imagine Chika, saying that.

BTW I always thought that catch-phrase of Chika's was foreshadowing, given you don't say that to someone you dislike in every way.

Well, that was certainly nowhere near anything I could have expected from the extra chapter. Dear god... :D

Also nice to hear the manga is getting a continuation. ^_^

My understanding is that along with the anime they've renewed the manga. Note that the light novels have a lot more material than what's in the manga, and those haven't been at risk of cancellation at all.

"All those rabid fans hurling abuse at Chika online? They are in the wrong! But only because Chika is innocent. If Chika had been actually guilty (i.e. the victim of sexual abuse), then her fans would have the right to be angry at her!"

In chapter 13 Yasumi jokingly compared Kagazaki being affectionate to an abusive boyfriend's lovebombing, And in #14 both Chika and Yasumi jokingly remind each other that sexual misconduct can happen between two women. Which is why it's weird that during the scandal neither of them noted even privately that if a 16-year-old girl were to get any job position in exchange for sexual favors, that would make her the victim of sexual exploitation. Not the perpetrator of any wrongdoing.

Maybe this is just a silly and sleazy light novel that I should not take too seriously. But this doesn't feel right in a story that tries to create drama from an underage voice actress getting roped into a sex scandal. A story created in a post-metoo world, where even real voice actresses have spoken out about e.g. being pressured to give male directors or other stakeholders creepy favors like private bath sessions. Is it really too much to ask that a story like this gives the bare minimum amount of pushback to slutshaming, especially when it affects a girl in high school?

I would have let it go without comment, but I had to say something after the girls made jokes about the topic. It's weird to reference intimate partner violence and corporate HR speak only for jokes, but offer no criticism on the base assumptions of Chika being accused with "sleeping her way to the top", and to not acknowledge that she would be the victim in that situation. The creators want to milk "the dark side of the industry" for drama, but they can't even acknowledge the power dynamic between a boss and employee, or adult and teenager.

I'm not saying the whole series is bad or anything, in fact it's because I otherwise enjoy it that I'm frustrated because of this.

Holy shit the manga's back! I was wondering if it'd come back after the announcement of the anime. I really hope it survives this time until the leads get together (I don't even know if the light novels have gotten there but alas).

And to think I will see THIS on the next episode! Now this is good drama! I hope her mom can talk sense into all of them.

Unfortunately they won't adress those problems with seriousness all the long. It could be so much interesting if they did.
With the last chapter release, if they are not massively harass online and IRL, this story is taking place in the same world as the Bisounours.

God, I hope fans aren't actually like this because that would be pathetic. People really thinking VAs owe them their time/life for their entertainment.

Mom really fucked up there. Page 25 specifically (or what's labelled as 25) shows she wasn't ready for nor expecting the absolute clusterfuck that she herself forced to happen. She just thought one stalker was bad enough, but she literally called the starving pack of scavengers right to a buffet, which then turned into an all out brawl. Idk why the school, students, and managers had to apologize when Mom was responsible for everything. Should have had legal charges pressed against her.

Somehow the manga unexpectedly managed to make this feel even more intense than the anime, and this after having seen that and knowing what would happen...

The leads are so well-written that I enjoy their relationship dynamic immensely, even without any Romance in it.

...and always opposite Yugure voicing the pure white lily heroine. Also, the leads look great in those sci-fi suits on the cover.

Watching the anime which doesn't really live up to the manga for various reasons, BUT one that stood out especially was the distance in dialogue. I never quite appreciated how vividly translated this series was till now. Real hall of fame characterizations in here! Amazing work.
