In a way she's what Tomoko Kuroki - or, since her cuteness isn't very conventional, let's take Koharu Minami (aka Kibiko, fang girl, awkward bitch, etc.) who's equally awkward, equally into girls, and with an equal lack of self-awareness or values. But yeah, even Tomoko if she'd cleaned herself up, this is what they would have turned into if they followed Kuroki's original plan of using sleeping around with boys to be popular. I realise Tomoko has a kind of scolding morality, but that's mostly for her internal dialogue of being secretly better than everyone around her.
So I think of this as a Tomoko that kept true to her vision of using boys, and Mashino is like Megumi Imae if she worked at a lesbian brothel and had huge issues. Why did this occur to me? Because the way they are heedless of how they screw up their lives is quite similar between Makino and Tomoko. It would probably be clearer if the title was translated like a Watamote chapter, thusly: "Because I'm a Trash Ronin with a Difficult Life, I'll Get A Call Girl." And you could retitle several chapters the same way.

BTW I like Junichi and I wish she'd tell him and his parents she's not into men, but she'll be his friend. When she can get there, that would be a sign Mashiro has fixed her up somewhat.

This manga though has been pretty quick to clear up misunderstandings so I'm not too worried, mostly looking forward to seeing how much Makino suffers lol.

Yeah, seeing her checking out rings with a guy after you know she's on marriage interviews...that can't feel nice. It was always going to blow up in MC's face though. She's using this guy's money when he said that was a condition for accepting their marriage and she's broken the promise she made. She'll have the money but I suspect she'll be declined when she asks to meet up, or "Maron" will really come back. And I expect the guy hasn't finished fulfilling his role yet.

Given that it's been established she has effectively no social awareness (or at least no sense of propriety), it doesn't feel like it exists to inject drama for its own sake but a genuine character-driven moment. She's rash and self-centered and, go figure it's blown up in her face even if she doesn't realize it yet
