I completely agree, im really routing for either one of those two. The Witch is too mature, the Priestess (although being my favorite -dere type, Tsundere [at best]) is in my opinion not ideal for the Demon-King and simply for the Princess Knight its just a pass (her personality don't really fit with the Demon-King's + she kinda annoying... :|.

To answer your question: yes, she did. I loved deciding the plot by audience choice. It was basically a choose your own adventure book and those have been around forever. Plus as a writer I'd imagine it was a fun exercise.

I wouldn't call it basically a choose your own adventure. I'm pretty sure many people never got their choice. One of the reasons why I hate votes in story decision contexts. Though that's also cause I personally wouldn't want anyone messing with my stories besides me myself and I, so I'm kinda biased.

The Maid is loyal, smart and hardworking. Plus, she's freakishly strong, so I wouldn't piss her off.

The problem with this setup is the more the main wins the more people vote for the Maid because she's the one getting all the development.
I don't mind it because I went into this expecting that to happen but one was always going to be the main girl.
