I think it was because it wasn't a smile made by her but rather her daughter.
Could be it she was attempting grooming or something? Maybe I'm overthinking and could be flashback/ptsd of her mother/love interest

As for this chapter... I hope she gets her the letter anyway. Especially if she will probably never see her again, unless the army is smaller than I think. I guess it would be awkward to give it to her... I don't know. I would actually like to read real experiences like this and see how people react.

Please tell me that Kagami's mother is not sabotaging their relationship because she is jealous and is actually planning for Indou to be the replacement for her mother. That would be a bit much.

Ya I thought that might be the case, but she was smiling when she saw I found watching kagami? I know it was a shady smile but I don’t think it’s one for jealousy or sabotage.

I might be an overenthusiastic whump/angst/drama/ age gap fan, but I'd like to see where that plotline ends up. Probably just Kagami telling her mother off in a passionate monologue and a happy ever after.

We used "horseback archery," not "horsebacked" (I never would have let that get through!), and it's because "horseback archery" is the standard English translation, according to our translator.
