I just noticed that the last page is the first time we see Rei-chan's right eye, no?

Pretty sure this was mentioned a long time ago, but for those who missed it, it's just because of her hair always being over it. There's no real reason, and she doesn't have heterochromia or anything, as evidenced here https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/school_zone_ch00#2

But if we want to believe that there's meaning to it, is like the author saying "this side of me that I've been hiding" maybe? Is like... very dramatic or romantic that way, no?
I'm reading too much into it... but, it is a very serious moment to just show it without any thought put into it!

So Kei is opposed to the gay for unknown reasons (probably just societal expectations imo), it lead her to deny any of Rei's feelings early on, and it's just coming to a head with her being in denial over her growing feelings for Rei (chapter 22) and Rei feeling depressed over keeping her own feelings bottled up. Good dramatic progression.

Everyone going crazy over the progression of the manga, I'm just waiting till we can see Yatsude in full color on the volume 3 cover.

Ooh, this gives Kei's flashback on chapter 14 way more context. All I can say right now is "oof" ina good way

At first it started as a light comedy and I liked it, but now it gets disturbingly sad and deep... I don’t know what this series is anymore. It’s still enjoyable, but kinda difficult to read, in terms of feelings, that is.

Jesus, I wasn't expecting this chapter out of nowhere. I didn't think we'd get the other side of that little flash we saw of why Kei cut her hair but, I gotta say, don't think she was wrong to run off in that moment. At that point Kei didn't seem ready at all.

But as deep as it was, I didn't think it was sad, just something to set the tone for what's to come.

Wow, what a chapter. And yeah, I really love the detail of her right eye being shown for the first time in that last panel, it feels very deliberate and meaningful.

i think you're right, it's symbolic

Middel school kei looks so cute with long hair aside from that I really liked this chapter I now see Yokoe in a different perspective and I like her even more she deserves happiness.
