After some time of lurking I had to ask this question.
Like, author gone to great pains to show that our heroines is so much into each other but once they get down and dirty it`s always the same song:
"No, stahp, I'm going... Oh, no! It's already happening... Oh, cruel fate, how dare you to bestow upon me the dreadful horror of ejaculation..."
Is this a cultural thing?

I think it's more to represent how intense it is and how they're not used to sensation because they (usually) never had hot lesbian sex before? Or something like that I guess. Or authors just have no clue how to write a realistic sex scene, but that can't be it.

I suppose it's the latter.

Though there are some mighty cool mangakas/manwha/webtoon creators who can pull off an intense lesbian sex scene without making it appear like it's painful even if that was their first lesbian sex ever. I think of Pulse, WDtFS and the likes.

It's cultural. In Japan showing pleasure is seen as dirty and shameful, so the ideal Japanese woman is one who is flustered from being brought to the edge.

It's stupid, but that's how this goes.

There's also an aspect of an artistic game of telephone that happens in the manga community. One hentai artist learns by copying another hentai artist, and their stuff gets copied by other hentai artists, without really going back to refresh at the well of reality and layering on assumptions of their own and running it through the filter of their own "style" at each step along the way.

And thus we get weird shit like Asagi Ryuu and his buckets of pee/juices/mysterious undefined fluids, or the highly formalized "I'm so embarrassed", or acting like you've been hit by a taser the moment someone lightly touches your clitoris.

Makes sense, also may explain personality switch from smug and predatory to shrinking violet the moment they are at the receiving end.

It would be nice if just once, right before climax, the other girl would say "Uhhh, sorry, don't want to make you feel uncomfortable" and walk out the door.

I don't think you should make the leap from "this thing is common in anime and manga" to "this thing is an inherent aspect of Japanese culture" without some very strong evidence. One should be careful in making inferences about an entire culture's outlook based solely on the pornography they produce.

It's more likely that it's just one of those weird things common to manga, like characters getting nosebleeds from sexual arousal and girls getting flustered and loudly proclaiming "kanchigai shinaide!" after doing something nice for the person they have a crush on. However it got started, it continues because that's what turns the authors on.

Or what target audiences expect, or editors and authors think the target audiences expect - bit of a "chicken and egg" issue really.

Aren't you the one making assumptions on my knowledge here though...?
I would suggest you google "Ideal Japanese woman". It's not just a trope in fiction it is a cultural phenomenon older than electricity.

Certainly the trait is entirely exaggerated to a comical degree in porn, but it's nontheless a cultural oddity. I'd equate it to Western dime novels with women of fatih/nuns in them. All the talk about being pure and not sinning and the like that turns on men who like to defile things etc. All based on the actual perception of what these women should be like.
Every culture has thiese messed up interests.

I apologize for making assumptions. You're right, for all I know you're a leading expert in cultural studies of Japan and what you said is the distillation of years of research, which goes way beyond my head. I guess I've just seen lots of people making baseless generalizations about Japanese culture from what they see in manga.

Yeah, also generic "It's not like I am a bitch, just he/she is somewhat forcing me into it, so forgive me being shameful, I did some resist at least and said だめ countless times"

W-whoa... I'm not used to that kinda response.
I'm certainly no expert, it's just one of those things you pick up sometimes(particularily because of how much that "ideal" annoyed me). And yeah, I definitely know what you mean. Weeb culture is a living stereotype...

It happens in Japanese porn as well, which leads me to think it's a cultural thing.

It's very annoying. When they say 'stop' and the character keeps going, I can't help but think "BUT THEY JUST SAID STOP, SO JUST STOP!!"

It would be funny to see their reactions if the act did stop. If it was me in that situation, I'd high-key ask them every time "so, are you still okay with this or should I leave...?"

I vaguely remember a scene like this somewhere ... "why did you stop?" "Because you said ..." "I didn't mean ...!" Something like that. But I can't remember where.

But, yeah. Tropes gonna trope.

That reaction has become a trope in itself by now. The top stops touching the partner to make them admit that they want it, which is just an extra layer on the "corruption" obssession Japanese people have. The ideal Japanese woman has to be shy and modest... but what if you were so good that they break away from their morals to appeal even more to your amazingness?

It can be cute sometimes, but as someone who just doesn't like hamfisted domination nonsense I just feel annoyed most of the time.

1) ...at least in yuri manga we have women corrupting women? o.o

2) ...I don't think it (the corruption fantasy/obsession) is a Japanese culture thing soley.... It may come (haha!) in more varying degrees for others, including a wider array of fantasies depicted overall in such context. Yet, especially in pornography, there still seems to be an international focus on objectifing / fantasizing of the female gender (at least from what I've seen *cough* Not that I would, you know... *cough*). That's not necessarily a bad thing, if it stays in fantasy territory. Everybody's got kinks. Many women themselves even at this time and age (according to some studies even more again than only 5 years ago ... :-| ) like to play the devote / being lead / dependent / bottom part in the sex- (and relationship-) dynamic.
I guess, the whole "orgasm bad" trope is just one extreme - not exclusive to Japan, but maybe more prominent there... (I'm not gonna do the research for other countries - maybe someone else will volunteer XD)

3) Saw the title of this thread and could not not check it out XD Thanks, OP!

I could’ve sworn that that’s from a NicoMaki doujin (bottom Nico ofc), but I can’t find it. :<

It sounds like one of Ooshima Tomo's works.

I feel like people are referring to "yamato nadeshiko", but I'm not enough of a deep thinker to be interested in trying to determine if that actually applies to yuri tropes (or any porn tropes for that matter) or is just off on it's own someplace.

Because the anatomy of an anime girl is not designed to experience the sheer pleasure of an intense orgasm. 8,5 Anime girls out of 10 would immediately explode if they orgasm. It is a matter of life and death.
