Maybe Touko's more relaxed about her studies now that she's let go of the pressure of being perfect, but we don't really see any such change in Sayaka. And given this is Nakatani-sensei, we'd probably need a whole story arc focusing on Sayaka before something big like that happens to her. Maybe in one of her spinoffs, if Nakatani-sensei decides to write about Sayaka's future.

This isn’t AnoKiss, where the whole plot for the central pairing revolved around class rankings. Sayaka’s certainly a high achiever, but she doesn’t seem to have any serious hangups about absolute “perfection” (at least in the manga—I could give a fuck about the spinoff).

Her academic rivalry was with Touko personally—I expect that if a third party beat out them both they’d laugh it off with a rueful shrug and vow to do better next time.

Either way, speaking of KS, I also liked their translation of chapter 42 and 43 better than 4s'. They are more literal which manages to capture some nuances 4s fails to include, and they have improved over time compared to their translation of chapters 38 & 39 (which they fixed to make it more "English" later on anyways).

We also had the ace character take a good look at Yuu's relationship with Touko and realize that Yuu isn't the same as him.

It's not that Yuu couldn't feel love like she feared, it's that her perception of love was formed entirely by stuff like shoujo manga and love songs, so when her process of falling in love turned out to be a slow burn instead of a big flowery explosion, she decided that it couldn't be love. And this chapter has Yuu pretty clearly spelling out to Touko that she's attracted to her physically, specifically on page 27, so it's not only fulfilling an emotional bond (although that bond is extremely important too).

I think that whether ace people have sexual relationships is probably up to the individual and whatever partners they may have, but I also think that it's pretty clear that Yuu isn't ace or aro.
