Don't like the "seen kissing someone else" thing but what can you do? Really good apart from that.

Are you kidding me? That's the best part. I love a little drama/misunderstanding. At least, I think it's a misunderstanding. I kind of hope it isn't... This could use nice yuri love triangle competition, which is the only kind I like. I doubt that it would happen, though. Oh, well.

Huh, At first I thought it was weird how Vega's parents left her by herself in Japan, you'd think they'd split up to have one supervise their kid.

But then maybe they get their powers from the affection they show each other, like how Vega does from Washimine. That would be cute.

like every yuri drama ever?

as i wonder why yuri as a genre is so repetitive and filled with generic drama, being nothing more than a romance subgenre... then i see comments like these once in a while... and makes me realize... it might not get any better any time soon.

Hmm... Maybe I worded it wrong. I don't mean all. It's just that if it's done right, then I enjoy it. I like a little challenge. I don't overly enjoy too fluffy of a story. Also, I'm referring strictly to Yuri with this statement.

Um...hate to tell you this, but yuri is a romance subgenre. So is yaoi. At least when they're not being porn subgenres. Being invested in the characters' love lives is sort of the point.

Not that this says it has to be bad or repetitive, that's on the individual authors, and I definitely agree that the (sub)genre could use a lot of work expanding the subject matter. It is happening, far as I can see from stuff going up on Dynasty, but it's slow going.

When I think about it, it's actually been a while since I remember seeing the start of a new series that's just high school girl falling in love with high school girl (I don't think an SF one where they're making science babies counts). There was a period when that was all the yuri there was.

You don't have to tell me, I already know. And gripe about it frequently. I've read/seen everything, even after i was bored of it all.

You CAN have lesbian characters in something that isn't just the usual yuri romance-drama. Personally, I am really having trouble caring for anything with a plot, cuz its all just the same shit that i read over and over and over... Melodramatic soap operas... Everywhere...

Even as a subgenre it's rather contrived into being so samey. Little to no variety in comparison with so many het romance out there.

But even when we get something thats seemingly different...
Yuri in a mech series? they end up in a love triangle / b-but we are both girls drama.
Yuri in a fantasy/adventure series? they end up in a love triangle / b-but we are both girls drama.

Welp, what else is there? Even in the hundreds of fanfiction and the occasional original fiction I've read, that's usually what you get: b-but we are both girls drama. Really though, every romance can get repetitive, be it Het, Yuri, or Yaoi. There's only so much drama in the world. More so for sub genres. For me, as long as it's both girls, little bits of angst/drama, and good plot, I'm willing to read it. Don't care if it's the 1000th Tea Shop AU there is. With manga you can't be too choosy as there's so little of them with Yuri content as is.

A good chunk of that is down to Japanese publishers and audiences, isn't it? The "b-but we are both girls" is pretty understandable in a culture that pushes het as the norm so strongly and largely believes that Class S isn't total bullshit. It's not yuri-as-genre that's the problem so much as the culture that produces yuri-as-genre. That's a slow thing to change, but again it is changing albeit at a glacial pace.

Love triangles, well, occupational hazard of any romance. You're not getting rid of that one.

I should add, we do have yuri in a mech series and yuri in a fantasy/adventure series(rip) or if you prefer, without "b-but we are both girls" Love to see a lot more though, just as you would.

Even as a subgenre it's rather contrived into being so samey. Little to no variety in comparison with so many het romance out there.

Surely that's a function of how small the subgenre is though, with a lot of influence from the aforementioned publishing culture?

Too bad Gretel didn't take off, that one had potential.

Aw, poor Vega-chan...

I can't believe we're getting a second chapter YEARS later. Anyway, I'd say I was disappointed by the 'misunderstanding' at the end, but then I have to remember that Shizuru Hayashiya is famous for the idiocy/melodrama in her works.

This might just be because we haven't seen the rest of the story arc, but I'd have to say chapter two isn't nearly as good as the one-shot. It runs the same joke into the ground before getting into the hackneyed misunderstanding trope. The next chapter will probably be Vega pleading just to plead her case.

Oooooooooo, its translated extremely slowly but, shit Imma see where this goes. Love everything about it so far, it's hard to find super hero yuri mangas that have a good mix of funnies and content i like but this is like a cross breed of Gretel and Gama which are 2 of my favs (a part of me died when I found out Gretel was canned) Looking forward to more and if you have any super hero Yuri mangas to suggest please do!!!!

After some searching, I found the Chinese version of this manga today. I must said it definitely worth the search, the last chapter and the bonus chapter is so freaking adorable and hilarious, I just can not stopped reading over the night. Definitely one of my favourite Yuri love comedy.

You have to admit like 80% of het romance dramas have some kind of love triangle or harem as well. There are just way more het romance stories so that 20% that don't go that route constitute a much larger number overall.
