It's funny because there wasn't a Shoujo Ai tag before, since that has a completely different meaning than what manga aggregation sites use it for, and is not synonymous with Yuri. Basically, you got April Fooled.

Just gonna toss in that it's not just a US thing, and it came from Europe (probably France) in the first place. So it's popular in a bunch of places. Including, interestingly enough, India. And obviously we have it here in Canada too.
