Also the age of the two girls isn't outright stated, if anything the long haired girl looks like she's wearing a traditional OL skirt. Granted they're seen with books but like stated above, it's fiction, so it can be whatever the author wants.

This story was absolutely adorable. I also wish this story was longer, but I also like how this was quick and to the point.

I interpreted it as the trans girl having not gone through genital surgery, but transitioned in other ways (other surgeries, hormone therapy, etc.)

She may have a certain set of genitals, but as the protagonist says, she's perfectly female.
