^Gale That Doesn't surprise me lol. Some of the worst TL stuff I've seen has been official and supposedly 'professional'.

One thing is they often take it way too far, like no hint of Japanese-ness can remain - and that ALWAYS ruins subs - removing ALL honorifics - replacing well known Japanese nouns - like teriyaki, changing yen to 'dollars' - and worst when they westernize even characters names (like in sailor moon - thankfully not done much any more).

The official railgun release has Kuroko constantly calling Misaka 'Sissy' instead of onee-sama - it is the stupidest thing I have heard in years! I mean 'sis' would have been bearable. But 'sissy?! It is not even in use except as a derogatory term for a man who is not 'manly'. NOBODY uses sissy for 'sister'!

Why do they try to remove every trace of the place it is set in and was made? Presumably fans of anime actually like Japanese things and culture or they wouldn't watch anime! And almost ALL of them will know basic terms and honorifics etc!
