Not true to both. Ange was never gay and has never been portrayed as being gay. It also did not flop.

To be fair, I don't remember in the anime her ever mentioning she was gay or straight, or labeling at all.

My goggles are strong, even when/if het comes.. I will just write fanfictions about my two gaybies. :D As others have mentioned I am sure we start seeming more fan art and other displays of their love. It's a win-win in my book! Plus the overall attention to detail in H!E is amazing, I can't help but appreciate it.

I don't think Cross Ange flopped, most people say that but it's westerners opinion, someone knows if japanese liked it? Cause it also have two mangas (one still ongoing) and a Vita game (with yuri route), so I doubt it flopped like some argue.

And I must agree with what some said, bait aside KyoAni makes good animes, so like with Tamako Market we should watch Hibike because it's good, not because of the bait, cause if you do that you will only get disapointed with the end since it'll be het.

Really? She never wanted to get intimate with a girl and Tusk appeared very prominently in the opening. So it was pretty clear since Episode 1 what was going to happen.
I really hate how people only focus on Ange while totally ignoring the legit lesbians that have sex and a relationship...

Sales wise: 6,401 on average. Not fantastic but still solid.

I second that, Ange was obviously not lesbian, Tusk didn't came completely out of nowhere as he shows up in the opening, the most gay thing she did was kiss Hilda in one of the last episodes to convince her to not go on a suicide mission, besides that she never showed any interest in Hilda, most girls where not even really lesbian, people keep whining even thought the really lesbian girls stayed lesbian and completely ignore the fact that we have a real yuri side couple, that's what happens when people expect yuri from an anime that was never classified as yuri, yeah they did a lot of bait in the anime and oficial art, but except for a few scenes it was all fanservice as they didn't really promote the serie as being yuri, it's not a bad anime, but if it had less fanservice it would have been a lot better, althought it didn't have to end in yuri for Ange not having Tusk would had made it better, he was really bad made, aparently the reason the Vita game is better is not because it have yuri route, but because Tusk is pretty much a side character and you can choose to ignore him and Ange end up alone or with lesbian option.

My wild guess, dissapointment.
I mean, watching the super strong subtext knowing that's going to end being het is like... "Oh my God! Why they don't make it yuri, works MUCH better, just looks at that chemistry for God's sake!!!"

Or probably I just saying nonsense again.

Ah, and don't forget that some people after seeing too much subtext shattered by the canon het is just a bit... defensive? cynical? Despaired?
