There was something about this chapter that was endearingly bitter sweet.

Wonder how Chiharu has never been to kaitenzushi before.

Welp, guess I was wrong, we did actually get to see a little of The Facility (TM). I feel like I remember Sakura playing a shooting game at a summer festival, but now I can't find it? Not sure if foreshadowing or figments of a tired brain's imagination.

Could be from the pre-serealization. But damn this chapter was heavy.

can't believe the damn assassin/super-soldier school got canonized. having vicarious "I KNEW IT!!!" satisfaction for everyone theorizing about that, unless there was equally unsubtle indicators beforehand i missed

Whew, and here I thought the sushi chapter had some bitter sweet adoptive family vibes, this chapter definitely hammered that home.

I wasn't able to find the festival chapter but it sounds familiar...I did see Sakura being speedy with this Takoyaki chapter though lol https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/sakuras_world_ch43#3

Can't blame Sakura for falling when she was given a shifting abomination right from R'lyeh to ride. Pedals are mounted directly on the back wheel on the bottom of the first page. They're also non-opposing on the bottom of the final one. The frame loses and manifests parts out of thin air. I suppose this space-bending property is also how Sakura is able to physically pedal without her shins hitting the ground...

Quick, somebody call Dr. Lawson.

This chapter actually made me feel a bit misty eyed and wistful.

I just had a horribly sad thought. Sakura was apparently in some kind of program, that was training orphans to be assassins, or something, I guess? She was obviously hopelessly alone. What if Chiharu, Saaya, and Ruka are all just figments of Sakura's imagination, she created to help her cope with the horrible pain of loneliness.

I really don't think that's true but now that I've had the thought I can't shake it. Honestly the whole series gives sad wistful vibes that makes feel like someone is dealing with something very painful in their life, and is looking back remembering all the the good times they had.

I really don’t think the whole series is in her head. Seems more to me that she got adopted and is working out the numerous problems she has from her upbringing with people that love her.

It now connects the dots. Sakura > Chiharu > Ruka.
If I recall Sakura never bothered to ask about Chiharu and Ruka's jobs.

Yeah, also the whole "It never happened" or "It was a dream all along" trope is really too overused to give sad endings

It's definitely one of my least favorites, another one is they're in a coma, or this whole thing happened in their head after they were shot while they were dying, and so on. It pisses me off in all honestly and it usually feels like a cheap way to do a dramatic twist, especially as it usually undermines everything at the last minute.

this is quite literally the "fuck you die" ending that this series could give us.

It can be good, especially if hinted at in the work, kinda like The Truman Show. But usually it's just cheap, yeah.

(Also I don't believe that's what this manga is going for, but that's another discussion ww)

Really powerful imagination, to be giving us scenes where Sakura's not present.
