Wooooooo, it's back. So glad the hiatus is over.

Also, I just realized ... "Mirai" can mean future. Is there any deeper sort of kanji-based pun, or is the girl from the future literally just called "future"?

Mirai means future
Kako means past
Nozomi means hope

(Author is pretty obvious with these ww)

I am super confused about their dynamic (unlike, say, AdaShima, where I can grasp it somewhat easily). It seems so fragile, hanging by a thread and like it could break at any moment. I think I need to read more (way more) of this to understand it properly...

Page 121 has a bubble duplicated? Or is she saying it twice without being called out?

Please, Yukiko, keep drawing about the girls, until they (and we) are all old and wrinkly~ =w=

Fun fact, Mt. Takao (which is the thinly veiled image for Mt. Takami in this chapter, some spots are drawn 1-to-1; you can see quite more of the site in some other manga and anime, like HibiMeshi episode 3) is pretty much nothing in terms of elevation change when you take the chairlift. Yamada's stamina must be really bad~ =w=

And why is the English title of this series "The summer you were there", while the Japanese title "君と綴るうたかた"

Both titles are Japanese (you can see the former on the covers and next to chapter titles). It's trendy to have a secondary or tertiary Latin alphabet title on the cover, be it a mere romanization, a clumsy literal translation, or a wholly unique subtitle, with a chance of it sounding natural.
The English publisher probably just chose one over the other, with a small chance of the licensor pushing for it..

That said, it's a standard practice to localize titles to fit the target language, culture or publisher's market research better, with no requirement to preserve anything from the original title.

Thank you for your explanation, I keep wondering if the Japanese title has "Utakata", but the English version doesn't have the word "Singing", or the English word "Summer" but the Japanese version doesn't have "Natsu", so are two titles with different meanings

I haven't seen anyone reply to you, so just a heads up that the title says nothing about singing; the word is うたかた, not うたった (or better yet, 歌った). うたかた is "fleeting, ephemeral" and 綴る is in this context composing/writing (as in writing a book), so the translation would be something akin to "Briefly / fleetingly writing with you", which is very tough - in my opinion - to translate into good sounding title in English.

I'd understand the little sister saying she'd bring Onee-chan, but yeah, there wasn't much of a chance of her getting the answer she hoped for... :D

She probably did ("The person you like") ww

I don't really understand why they really need the sperm donor to be a part of their and their child's lives. Won't it make the child feel less like theirs?

It usually makes it easier for the child to understand the situation regarding its real father; and also many fathers want to see their kid is well. Of course, this is not possible in many cases (and often this shows only over time after the kid is born), but if it's possible, I'd say it's better for everyone.

Caught up to one manga today and upon realizing that it had multiple released chapters in past month and I had it on subscribed, I went and checked and saw that I got no notification mails since April 2022, there's nothing in my spam either, even though in my settings I have notification e-mails enabled. Is the feature broken or is that just my profile issue?

I'll be honest here - compared to most comments, I really lost the interest in this one over time. I still read it, but it felt like it was the strongest in its early chapters and then it just... whittled away? And it's not the issue with the format, I still love every chapter of Futaribeya, which is almost as long (longer by page count).

It's just that... all the tries to cram in some development felt really obvious and unnatural to me. Don't even know why, because it was pretty natural life events that "could" actually happen. Maybe Sakuma felt like a watching bystander as of late, even over the tries to give her her own plot? Maybe Wanko felt like she didn't ever change, because each her development was closed by the same celebration (which made it felt like the same old Wanko, even though the chapter was all about development)? I know these are partly stupid reasons, but it really made it felt like every advancement and development was crammed in, loudly announced and then it amounted to nothing... in the end they have a role as a seiyuu and a role as a writer, but didn't they do that at the start as well, just on smaller scale? Maybe the feeling of development it meant for them was somehow not transferred enough for me to understand it, dissolved by side events and side plots?

Don't know. But in the end, the later chapters were just a miss with me, sorry, Ikeda-sensei.

At this point, they could be in the midst of hot, ardent sex, and Koguma would still be thinking, "But does Hino really like me that way?" The only thing this series likes to do more than trolling Koguma is trolling the readers. I'll believe nothing until it's explicit.

...in the next chapter it would show up that they were actually only exercising and it was just a play of the angles.

Is it just me or has Hino-san become the title on Dynasty that currently gets the most community engagement in terms of forum posts and involvement per chapter?
Sure, it's been going for a few years and has 92 chapters now, but 3600+ posts in the thread is nothing to sneeze at. Not even Futaribeya or Hana ni Arashi have as many posts, though then again Bloom into You has more than twice as many :D The power of having an anime adaptation I guess?

Imagine Hino getting an anime, the thread length would break.

strangely transphobic bathroom joke in this one... I hope im just missing context somehow. I dont expect bkub to be a paragon of kindness or anything but that one was so 1 dimensionally mean that it reads like some awful fascist comics id rather not name

It's not a trans person. It's a peeper who wants to leer girls on their bathroom, thus stuff like "He's gonna find that I'm a guy" or "Gotta fool him with a girly voice" which don't really work for trans people. Trans girl won't think: "I'm a guy," because she's not and trans people don't usually maintain something like separate voices.
