Forum › Former Evil General Is Crushing on the Magical Girl discussion
Basically Hane is very convinced and thinks her current crush and waifu is the former missing magical girl (Been missing for years already like the chapter claims and in the previous chapter it is very likely that Junna got memory wiped of all her personal memories like family since she doesn't know if she got a sibling or not. Hane mostly think this due to the charm Junna had on her body that is very very similar to the one she gave to the magical girl who help rescue her when she was younger).
Also Junna's ex- general/right or left-hand person (Probably green hair girl like translator point or that author shown before is likely to make an appearance in the future)
Going to laugh if Juuna isn't actually the former missing magical girl...Red herring trick or troll by author lol
Sou's usual trolling antics lol
Also, I love that the title is talking about how the ex-general is crushing on the magical girl but it's very much painfully obvious that the magical girl is in love with the ex-general xD
Both states and description can still be true in the future once their relationship progress and continue growing/evolving...Though it more accurate to describle magical girl crushing on ex-evil general (Both literally with bear hugs and metaphorically lol)
Maybes it's been answered already but is junna retired? Or is her power just temporarily gone? I know in a earlier chapter she mentioned "being the only one to defeat hane" or something like that. >-< just a little confused about her motives
I am guessing that Junna lost most of her powers when Hane defeated her. She has been slowly regaining them ever since, but compared to the active magical girls, she is still a civilian.
Yep it already been answered in chapters long ago, Junna is still recovering her full 100% powers...Doesn't have full potential and recovery of her former ex-evil general powers...But just enough power to casually destroy and eliminate random humans or former enemy goons/mooks/henchman.
Magical energy finger blasters, memory wipes, emotional manipulation/geass control like power to influence people (Hane in previous chapter)+ Minor weak time manipulation spells for baking lol~
There's still an evil villain group that's somehow still recieving orders despite losing their supposed general
There seem to be implied that there are also general positions within the evil group (Random guy that send Junna white flower that p*sses her off since she hate white flowers), so there is a possibility of there might be 3 more similar general position (Junna was likely the most powerful one out of the bunch) if you follow the cliche 4 heavenly king of the demon king tropes.
Loosing Junna was still likely a major hit toward the evil villains group since they lost one of their major generals/powerful fighter but they can still survive by playing it safe and trying to recapture Junna for a possible re-brain wash again (Assuming Junna even got brainwashed in the first place???)
EDIT:
For example some people can argue that the magical girl transformation can subtly alter and change a person appearance from their original true self like MC blue eyes being much more lighter blue while Lemon's orange eyes turn green in her magical girl form and she gets longer hair to support the theory that Junna is the former missing magical girl,
But then again people can also claim that the missing magical girl should be older (Assuming their magical girl former is similar or same in physical age as their true self) and that the charm is simply a copy of the same strawberry charm or that Juuna simply reason the charm by the missing magical girl as a good luck charm/gift before going missing/dead.
Basically in the end, all we can do is craft theories and guess (one of them will be accurate from the dozens made) till the author release the truth of the while situation lol XD

Thanks Raru Buran for giving us a chart on their relationship as well as confirming a whole bunch lmao. ((Junna still wants that rematch established in Chapter 1 huh.))
That being said, I am interested in the possibility that Junna isn't the magical girl especially when there is also subtle hints from the last chapter (Chapter 21) that she could have been the younger sister (or clone?) of the older magical girl. It would make Hane's despair even worse lol. (I'm sorry).
I could also see the potential that Junna was also inspired by the older magical girl if they end up not being the same person or related. Like young Junna was captured/or a young demon officer in training, the older magical girl came to save her or to fight an evil general in Barren Hollow, didn't succeed, either died, dropped the charm while running away, or managed to give them to Junna. Junna was absolutely enamoured by her and copied her hairstyle while keeping the charm as a keepsake but she obviously didn't know her and eventually she just forgets her (or brainwashed afterwards).
In either case, Junna eventually becomes an evil general whether she is the older magical girl who disappeared and got brainwashed or she is a different person (brainwashed or otherwise) entirely to just happen to resemble the older magical girl while having the charm somehow.
I would tell Hane to go for it...but this is the summer festival after all. An infamous time to confess especially when involving those...fireworks. Yeah, she's cooked regardless if Junna doesn't end up getting whisked away in the crowd by the hooded figure last chapter.
Hane's appeal really lies in the gap where she is the typical innocent (dumb) main magical girl on one side vs lovestruck locked-in guilt-ridden magical girl who grew too fast in a year. ((Please don't abuse your fellow strongest magical girl's most precious/trauma response? to have her lock-in. /j ))

my only question is how did hane look so much younger than the missing magical girl in the flashback when hane and junna are only a year apart? i mean i get that hane used to be short but still. besides, in ch15 hane says she was saved “as a kid” by an “older” magical girl. even the person who wrote the end note was confused
they do both have the purple however, (although the missing magical girl’s purple hair is a lot lighter), and when they were shown side by side on ch22 page 6, they had a very similar face and bangs. it said they had an “unclear relationship” and that hane was convinced they were the same, which to me almost implies they actually arent?? i might be overreading that though

that would make sense too but wouldn’t explain why they have such similar eyes
if i had to guess they’re actually sisters honestly. it would make since how junna could look so much like the magical girl, have the charm thing, and still not be the same person.
anyways, i don’t know if this was already discussed since i don’t feel like going through the whole comment section for this manga, and i might just have missed it but what does junna keep meaning by “i’ll defeat you one day”? she’s not the evil general anymore, nor does she seem to be trying to go against the magical girls. so what is she trying to defeat her in?? fucking uno??

The most literal reading atm is wounded pride mixed with a confusion of love/respect ((The Only One Allowed to Defeat You trope)). Even though Junna was saved by Hane, there is a part of her that ultimately resents the fact that she lost to the magical girl. If RandomFanZ's theory is correct that Junna was one of the strongest within the Barren Hollow evil group (likely confirmed given that they kept trying to kidnap her back), then that goes double to her pride. To be beaten by the strongest (dumb) magical girl only to be saved by her. Junna is grateful to be alive but likely as a rival with alot of pride in her power, she is also insulted somewhere deep within. That gets mixed with her love and respect for Hane which morphs into The Only One Allowed to Defeat You trope.
The trope itself also leads to alot of excuses for Junna to justify helping Hane during Hane's moment of weakness (something shown in Chapter 1 and her protectiveness against jerks and creeps). Only SHE can beat Hane. Only SHE knows Hane. Hane belongs to her! and of course, potential drama is she does make good on that desire once she regain her powers.
((just a little clarification, the trope itself may not be as serious as I made it out. It is possible the "i'll defeat you one day" is simply the excuse for Junna to help Hane to avoid thinking deeply about why she wants to stick by Hane's side and eventually it gets dropped once she realized her feelings but I love a good angst drama))
I had speculated other reasons a while back but that was under the assumption that Junna would end up knowing about Hane's guilt.

Older missing magical girl is probably just Junna's older sister, right? And it's like a machikado mazuko situation? They have a different face shape which seems an obvious hint they aren't exactly the same person.
Topping her well enough is kinda defeating her...

Hane thought junna was the older magical girl? I thought hane knew junna was the former general? Cause she almost killed her and stuff. and In chapter 8 hane says "not scared of everyone looking at the marks i got because of you", so doesn't that mean she knows junna was the former general? they're not a couple yet so it can't be hickies and such. and in chapter 10 hane also says "how did someone as edgy and listless become a general?" maybe those chapters take place in the future? Maybe i'm skipping over stuff when i read but i feel like i'm reading everything pretty thoroughly. I guess i'll just do a re-read of everything before the next chapter comes out

What if Junna killed the purple magical girl? Wouldn't that be fucked up? (Wearing my Sickos shirt)

That's fucked up. (I love it)
It was mentioned Hane had a growth spurt right? Also likely that Junna's magical girl form just made her look older or maybe she always looked older than she really is kinda like Hotaru from Non Non Biyori.

This is my current theory as well, initially I wanted to overlay their faces from the relationship chart but their face structure and eyes are clearly different, yet similar, same for their purple colors.
The older magical girl being away from the public eye for years means she's indisposed in some way, dead? Captured? So it could have been a situation where she passed the charm to Junna before heading into a final battle or something like that then never returned. Junna doesn't seem to have her memories from before working with the evil organization but maybe she still feels somewhat attached to the charm for reasons she can't explain herself perhaps.
Hane thought junna was the older magical girl? I thought hane knew junna was the former general
Hane thinks the older magical girl became General Junna.
What happened to the pages posted on September 2?
I don't mind that the translated pages are in a different order than the order in which they were posted, since the story doesn't really have a strict ordering to it, but I wonder if some pages might've been missed.

Yes, what this commentator/poster said.
It basically implied during their last intense final battle (Main character magical Hane versus Junna the evil general of evil organization gaze something- blab blab evil organization) that Hane (MC) saw the charm (Same one or at least same design on Junna defeated and likely bloody unconscious body and freak out a bit).
This is 100000% confirmed on chapter 22. page 6 on the chart information.
Hane think this theory might be true.
Author is either joking around by throwing out a red herring to troll the audience (Junna is not really the magical girl but just someone got the same charm by some unique certain situation like being a little sibling or Junna being a failed rescue victim and etc.) or Junna is actually somehow the older magical girl that help rescue Hane/MC in the past years ago theory.
MC 10000% already knows that Junna is the evil former general, everyone already know this and this been discussed and confirmed many pages on this discussion list. This is basic common knowledge which you and everyone know.
The new main question now is if Hane's assumption and theory about Junna also being the older magical girl who help rescue her is actually true or correct at all (Her guess/assumption and theory mostly fuel by seeing Junna with the strawberry charm).
P.S-
A see a lot of sadists here lol...Claiming and bring up the theory of Junna killing former magical girl that helped saved Hane...Meaning Junna is basically a murderer (unintentional murder since she was subtly manipulation or fully brainwash by evil organization) but still it would put an awkward dent into their future relationship if Author actually choose to go that route since Junna would have to deal with the sin of killing someone important like a hero to Hane while she was a evil general lol XD
Even if Junna is reformer, she's still looking to kick Hane's ass. I'm just thinking it might not be in the way she'd expecting

Yep, this is one of the most brutal response to a love confession I've ever seen.
Yep, this is one of the most brutal response to a love confession I've ever seen.
I mean Juuna is kinda correct though...Hane still thinks her and the magical girl are the same person and even if Juuna has clearly fallen for Hane she also has had to deal with being totally aware of this fact which resulted in this response.
Now this isn't exactly going to be good for Hane who is already consumed by guilt on multiple fronts and this probably just added another layer to that but still
It's a bit funny seeing this slowly morph more and more into an actual manga, rather than just a collection of singular frames
Junna thinks she's a replacement goldfish.
Hane thinks Junna is the goldfish.
PLOT ACTION????
This latest chapter reminds me of my father, who married my mother on the rebound and had her dress like his ex-fiancee until she found out what was going on.
OK, emergency theorizing to save my ship: Junna knew they were being followed by her ex-teammate and expected them to try to lure Hane away to get at her. So she intentionally let Hane chase the red herring so she could deal with her pursuer on her own. Which is stupid, given she still hasn't gotten her powers back, but not as stupid as teaming up with her ex-colleagues again to actually fight Hane. :-/

That sounds really messed up, friend.
To put it in the most eloquent way possible:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
First thing first, I don't think there's even a tiny chance that Junna will team up with her ex-colleague to fight Hane. That's not happening.
On another note, I still don't buy that Junna ISN'T the magical girl that saved Hane. I think she just doesn't remember. We know she doesn't seem to remember her life before she joined the bad guys.
