Fuck ai translations and the replacement of translators. Ai translations are garbage and even the worst human translations are better, but there's plenty of good official human translations. I hate it when people defend ai, and in that regard screw the author for that behavior. I dropped the series and sold my physical collection of it when that happened.

The artists comment on this is "Deer and Idiots"; so I believe the connection is actually that the Kana in Madoka Kaname means "deer". (The whole name apparently means "doe-eyed"? Idk I don't speak japanese.)
