Has kind of a similar vibe to Usagi wa Kaku Katariki, with androids instead of lagomorphic girls with big uh hammers. I like this enough to tag a copy onto my next physical order, but it's not clear that the mangaka is in control of their material enough to pull it off.

All evidence points to no, they are not sapient. They have life-like human faces for purely aesthetic/thematic reasons, not because there's a human-level mind behind them.

Super surprised the store owner was okay with this. If simply standing in the way of demolition androids is a capital offense, stealing them has to be as well. Here's hoping this doesn't come back to bite them.

Doesn't seem like a manga that cares that much about the details of the setting, tbh. The heroine just casually walking around despite technically being hunted is not really making any sense either

^ yep, like, not to be mean but you can feel why it’s not selling.
She is being hunter by the government but still no reaction when the owner says the thing about the gov robots coming. I understand that is also comedy, but it feels kind of lazy? for the lack of a better word. Narrative flexibility for convenience is ok and most of the time I don’t care (and this is not exception) but as I said, I kind of understand why the sales.

Seeing that last page that it might be cancelled is, painful to read. I am loving it so far.
I went to see how much the manga costs and paperbacks are dirt cheap but importing them would cost a lot and there's nothin else I really want to import at this time x.x wehs

its hard to be a cute lolita robot who wants to help people when you live in a capitalist dystopia run by infinite military-cop robots. We've all been there.

I love this already, the art, setting, and character writing is all really fun! I bought a volume on bookwalker, I really hope that the author can get some breathing room to get into the meat of this more.

I think it's less that the value of the robots is so high, and more that human life is incredibly cheap. As we've seen from the previous chapters, it seems like these insane combat robots are so cheap to mass produce that no one really blinks if they get exploded or go missing. Stealing a robot is like stealing a traffic cone, sure you aren't supposed to do it and it probably counts as a crime, but the value of the traffic cone itself isn't high enough to pursue you actively over it.

They got their finances in order so some rich bureaucrat doing the paperwork probably shrugged and moved on. The fact that the robots can kill indiscriminately for even the slightest inconvenience is basically just a showcase of how little human flesh and blood matters.

The robots themselves are treated as disposable, so what does that say about the humans who are worth less than robots?

In this world there seems to basically be full segregation of the rich from the poor, so even a wanted criminal like Miyamoto might not even be someone that the rich and wealthy personally know or care that much about, but their subordinates further down the line have a job to just go "okay we sent out 4 military bots to kill her last week, it didn't work, guess we gotta schedule another four to go out next week, sounds good?" and then they go on lunch break and stop thinking about it

Its a bombastic action filled setting, but it also all feels very corporate-bureaucratic banality too.

The robots are autonomous, and the structure of this world means that a bunch of government middle managers just treat it as a mundane office shtick where they clock in, chat with coworkers at the water cooler, do overtime cuz its japan, have holidays and insurance, etc

The people who rule are so far removed from the regular people that it's all been abstracted into numbers and data points anyways

this chapter was significantly more lighthearted than i was expecting. Not complaining, I appreciate the author being able to juggle the lighthearted and serious tones well.

I just realized this is basically a cyberpunk version of Chisato x Takina.

Great. Pretty please don't get axed!
