This comment really got me going with at best tangential, probably even off-topic things about this, but I'll still put it out in the aether if there's even one person curious enough to indulge this message.

The patterns of the highlands and maria (singular: mare) are visually pleasing. Though Idk which areas would be preferable for hypothetical future space colonization/habitation. This lack of knowledge from me does remind me of a favourite hobby of mine since my late pre-teen years and into today - mapping. Specifically, two series, by different creators.

There was a mapping series I watched years ago where, in seasons 1 and 2, it didn't really matter - countries formed colonies in both areas. But in season 3, the human colonies were limited to the highlands, suggesting plans for far-future terraforming (presumably to be attempted after the Second Solar System War wrapped up. Sadly, the promised final 3 episodes of that season (and series as a whole) haven't been released even years later)

Meanwhile, there's another mapping series, in fact my favourite one, and it's still ongoing. Season 1 doesn't concern itself with space, like, at all, safe for a brief mention of spacecraft in the aftermath section of the final episode. Season 2, meanwhile, features a humanity displaced to the Moon and Mars and struggling to retake Earth. And here, the settlements on the Moon are limited to the maria. Though, while a little Moon window is shown on the map of Mars throughout the season, we don't really see confirmation of the maria-bound nature of Moon City until the last several episodes, when a proper separate Moon map is finally shown as war finds its way there. And I say last, not most recent, because the creator announced that the upcoming episode is the season and series finale, albeit one that'd take longer than usual to make.

@LaLaLacuna Yes, but also no. They've evolved past the existence of men, so the concept of gay stopped having meaning for them.

And the rocket has landed! What a manga! I love that they highlighted thar even though the series started with Hayami helping Ayumu break out of her shell, it's the little astronomer that broke down this idiots walls. This feels well paced enough to be a proper ending with some wrap up, but if they want to dive into the actual process of Hayami opening up to relationships this can have a lot of potential
