very fun modern play on the class S beat. I'm liking it a lot.

Also I think it's likely that Haruyo who is all but outright stated to be the onee-sama, is the same girl as the one on page 26 who starts talking to the very first braided girl Kasumi saw. They have similar hairstyles on top of the braids.

"Pen-pal Yuri" was not on my 2025 bingo card. Which is surprising, got all sorts on that bingo card.

Some links to get out of the way:
The mangaka's Bluesky. (Naturally this has spoilers.)
Where to buy physical: CDJapan or digital: Kobo and Bookwalker.

I've never translated a vanilla (read: non-supernatural/hobby) high school romance but this one's a very rich vanilla.
There are currently 9 chapters out and it's monthly (Or bi-monthly with chapters releasing in 2 halves).
Typesetting is rather light so with any luck I'll catch up fast.

So yes, there are no supernatural elements here. No rose people. There always seems to be a question of how Class S it's going to be so I threw in that little disclaimer - it's what you can expect from a modern yuri manga. It may start a little slow, but the atmosphere is unbelievably thick with anxious yearning. And when things start getting more romantic it makes my heart skip in a way it hasn't since I first got into yuri. So yeah. Have high hopes.

I promise not to infodump after every chapter but there'll be another with chapter 3.

This is looking good so far! I especially like how the pencil-like shading gives the manga an older tone to it. :)

The mangaka drafts on graph paper with pen before touching it up digitally, which gives it a very analog look.

Ah, I see! As I was reading, I started to think the mangaka might actually use pencil, thank you for clarifying! ^_^

did you actually translate and typeset a geology lesson from the original manga, or drop in something in place of some science notes in Japanese?

(geology major asking)

This one is pretty cute. I'm loving it so far.

Also, rock types by amount of silica? I guess I must have skpped that lesson back in high school.

This made me remember something from my childhood (teenage years actually). Once in high school, when I was 17 years old, I had someone I liked. But, even if at first I thought they liked me too, turns out they didn't. They also thought they did but well, they didn't. I remember after that I got super depressed (well, teenage depression, nothing serious). And months went by like that.

I had this person blocked everywhere, for my own choices ofc, so to make sure not to talk to them again. And one day, as I was reading the book I was reading at the time, I arrived at a page that contained a letter to my name. When I opened it, it was this person, who wanted to be my friend, make up, or something. One of our mutual friends had slipped the letter inside my book when I wasn't looking (we went to the same school), and so we made up. We aren't really friends anymore (many years have gone by) but still, I remember it felt good that someone cared so much about me as to do that

Exact same geology lesson as the original raws. I translated it word for word apart from the mnemonic (Gave Bad Grand Violin Player Rough Dice Again) which followed the same principle of taking syllables from each term.

Oh, this is so romantic.

Glad to see this on dynasty! The premise is intriguing and I'm excited to see how quickly our leads will find and open up to one another.

Wow, amazing job then! Including deciphering those kitchen-scratch handwritten kanji, or so it looks to me.

this is insanely romantic. i'm sold. like, i'm already a sucker for class S-inspired stories (marimite, anyone?) as well as the rose/candy yuri dynamic (rose being the older girl who's mature, reserved, probably has some kind of emotional baggage that closes her off, and candy being the younger girl who's naive and sincere). huge thank you to the scanlator, i'm bookmarking this one

This has been delightful so far. Fingers crossed for some Sherlock puns in the forum when she finally "cracks the case".

seems very fun so far. very self consciously old school (latin epigraph, natch) but not in a hacky pastiche way.. excited to see where it goes!
