To be completely fair to the person with the 'scale-hide' on their bag, it is rather possible they know people with other favs they could trade with to get more of their own rather than having to cash out of hand to the maximum level. Or online resellers, but I dunno much about how far ahead they'd really come from that.
This manga is too good at pointing out nerd culture. I store my file folders nicely too and i keep thinking about the absurdity of it when i look at them.
I feel like in real lofe I'd be super impressed by someone printing out fanfic and binding it to read.

Some fan fics are really well written, so I could see wanting them in physical form. The real problem is they tend to be really long, compared to most traditionally published books, so you'd probably need to break it into multiple books and it'll eat a ton of paper.

My hypothesis is Airi is loaded or knows someone who works in a print shop that can run 'test pages'.
Real talk, telling Nagi to stop being friends with Airi, even temporarily, in order to meet new people is so nonsensical in my head. Like why don't they both go together to talk to new people? Adopt another introvert, basically what they did to Fumi. I get that its probably just for the gag of the chapter but still.
