Now, I'm curious.
Interesting, looking forward to it.
Seems promising and intriguing:), I have a feeling like this is going to be an emotional rollercoaster.

Oh lets absolutely go, another Korean Introspective Maid Yuri to fall in love with, I'm looking forward to where this goes. Interested in seeing where the divide between "person" and "human" lies for them
(The other maid yuri is Maid in Heaven, not uploaded on here but by far one of my favorites of all time. Very beautiful and extremely melodramatic; it ends its chapters with quotes from Dante's Inferno, so like that kind of poetic tragedy lol)

Glad you mentioned Maid in heaven, this also reminds me of Ghosts of Greywoods another Korean manhwa which also revolves around the same concept. :D
I wonder where is this going to.
What is it with scientists creating androids and just like, abandoning them so easily? What's the point of making a robot that's basically a human, if you're just going to treat it like a robot? Why even make it look and act human then?
oooh i need to know what happens if a human touches the lady's hand, the premise is interesting so far

Making it look human makes sense— easy to approach, not nightmare fuel etc— giving the robot emotions and the need to sleep is pointless tho. You’d think if a scientist created a robot with feelings/super humanlike its purpose would be to provide the creator with companionship or comfort
Unless it’s the whole “making a robot with feelings is a great scientific achievement” which is dumb, cuz the government put a halt on it and no one wanted the robot?? (At least, it’s framed how someone wanting to take her is a relief) and even then, robots with human emotions just makes it unpredictable and act irrational.
Also, if the government shut it down, why wouldn’t they just destroy her? If they’re gonna keep her “alive” why ship her off somewhere else? I feel like the government wouldn’t want that kind of tech at some rando’s house, let alone still operating if they wanted the whole thing to stop
oooh i need to know what happens if a human touches the lady's hand
Maybe they die? Maybe she had powers like Shigaraki’s from MHA? I dunno man.. IDK why the maid told Android girl to not become too familiar with their young lady. She’s not human, what would even happen?
The robot girl saying the rich girl doesn’t look like a living person is ironic
Also, the “so you aren’t human after all” after she charges the camera is hilarious— I’m assuming her parents or the head maid told her that Maya wasn’t human so she’s just like “oh wow, they weren’t kidding” but it’s funnier to think that she wasn’t convinced until she touched the robot’s hand
The premise so far is interesting— I just really don’t like how human the android is— they gave her the ability to sweat? To cry? To blush? To yawn? She can’t sleep because the bed is hard? Why would she even need to sleep, let alone need a soft bed to sleep on? Why would it even be hard to sleep? Just turn yourself off. How’s she able to determine what’s pretty? Or even find value in that? Why does she get flustered when the girl touches her hand?
Half of these functions are completely pointless as a robot and just make me ask “why create her”
Why make the robot clingy? Why make the robot petite to the point she struggles to carry a basket (which leads me to believe she obviously wasn’t designed to be a maid or do labor stuff)
Also, I’m curious if her “skin” is soft like a human’s (is her skin soft?), if she were to get stabbed, would she be fucked?
I wonder if it’ll ever be addressed? Why was she made to look the way she does? Why they gave her emotions?
I can def think of a reason:
My theory is that the two researchers had a kid together (or adopted, idk what gender the black haired one is) but the kid died, so they created the robot in the kid’s likeness but as time went on, the robot was nothing like the child they raised so it made the black haired one care less about the “kid” so when the government wanted their research to stop, since they didn’t have the heart to “kill their kid”, selling Maya off was the next “best” option. Abandoning Maya was so easy cuz the researchers were already disillusioned about the robot being their kid, the comment about Maya’s emotions being smthn they created is just another reminder for them; Maya isn’t their kid, it’s emotions aren’t real, therefore they shouldn’t feel bad or care.
Hiding my theory cuz if they actually do touch on it, I feel like what I said is likely to be what happened
Minor nitpick, buttttt you give the android the ability to blush, yawn, (which, the yawning implies it’s breathing, no?) cry, fear, etc yadda yadda, you add a charging panel on its back for convenience— so WHY isn’t it solar powered?? Or energy powered (like movement and stuff) or sleeping recharges it? Cuz with how she words it in this chapter, it seems like she herself needs to be plugged in to a wall in order to charge… like huh?
Also, just realized, no panel or cover up the ports? What if it rains?

Because physics.
Solar power isn't that good at powering something that moves, especially if the something is human shaped. Where would you put the panels?
"energy powered" makes no sense.
"movement and stuff" -- so the battery powers the movement and is recharged by the movement? Perpetual motion machine? Makes no sense. Perhaps you're thinking of movement powered watches? But those are tiny, being powered by the human wearer who is external to the watch.
"sleeping recharges it" -- again, where is the energy coming from? Sleeping by itself can't recharge her, though sleeping (for a mental defrag period, or whatever sleep does for human brains) would be a good time to also plug in to charge her battery.

That's a good point (I assume everyone knows she's a robot, since the lady of the mansion didn't seem surprised), maybe the head maid thought even robots aren't immune to the girl's curse.

Reminds me of that oneshot where a girl was cursed to kill anything she touched

that sounds like a cool premise, you got the title?

I'm gonna guess they're talking about Belladonna Lovers which was translated not too long ago

Oh, absolutely gonna check that out now, thanks for the recc :D !
Interesting, interesting.
Love the old school art style aswell ~

Physics always gotta be there to ruin stuff smh (jk)

Install the panels in her head, she can open it up when she’s not moving or have her hair or skin absorb the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity or smthn
"movement and stuff" -- so the battery powers the movement and is recharged by the movement? Perpetual motion machine? Makes no sense.
When I wrote that, I was thinking of a hamster wheel lol. She could have that kind of set up somewhere inside of her
Perhaps you're thinking of movement powered watches? But those are tiny, being powered by the human wearer who is external to the watch.
I feel like if they can create a humanoid robot (where the robot is nearly indistinguishable from a human), theyd have the technology for those things to work on bigger stuff?
"sleeping recharges it" -- again, where is the energy coming from? Sleeping by itself can't recharge her, though sleeping (for a mental defrag period, or whatever sleep does for human brains) would be a good time to also plug in to charge her battery.
That’s fair lol
I just feel like the researchers nerfed her so much by adding a lot of pointless features that don’t really make sense to have on a robot that you discard like a used tissue at a moments notice when they could’ve added more practical stuff.
It’s cool that she’s basically an outlet, but how much energy does she need to be charged up? The electric bill must be pretty high.
And I just realized, with how it’s worded (“thank goodness I charged my batteries”), it seems like she DOESNT need to charge up in order to be able to function, so how does she move without running out of energy?

Thank you for knowing what they were recommending, I really enjoyed reading it
We need see her robotic parts!
have her hair or skin absorb the sun’s energy
Then she doesn't look human. Also there probably isn't enough area to power much movement. There's a reason plants don't move.
I was thinking of a hamster wheel lol.
Then you have to power the hamster inside.

No, your idea makes no sense. You're proposing that she's powered by her own movement. That's a perpetual motion machine.
The electric bill must be pretty high
Humans are basically 100 Watt lightbulbs (2000 Calories/day = 96 Watt) and a lot of our food energy is lost as heat because metabolism isn't efficient (though we also use the heat to keep our chemistry going at good clip.) It's hard to predict the power use of an android (maybe heavier limbs? but no resting metabolism, and more efficient electric motors, but maybe less efficient 'brain'), but it could plausibly be around 100 Watts of electricity, which at 30 cents per kilowatt-hour is under $1/day.

The hair is black so it could work + it’s meant to be an alternative way to charger her battery- her battery isn’t tied to her functionality, so there shouldn’t be any issue with her walking around and absorbing the sun’s energy as she goes + she could easily stay still. It seems like the young lady likes sleeping outside so it could work

Yeah, I admit, that was a bad idea

I’m not proposing that she’s powered by her own movement— I was specifically referring to the battery that charges cameras and stuff, cuz based on how it’s worded, it seems like she doesn’t NEED to charge up her batteries to actually function, she only needs it to power other objects

I think she’s only charging up her batteries tho? The batteries that allow her to charge the camera? Maybe it’d be cheaper? Idk
I wonder what other "Appliances" she could charge... I'm a terrible person.
