Very interested to see where this goes. I think depressing stories with a flicker of hope for a better future are very appealing. You kinda need to experience both the good and the bad to make either hit hard in fiction.

Surely the emergence of the suicidal yuri microgenre -at least one new series every year- is just the result of the continued proliferation of the genre, and is not a portent of things to come

I NEED more. Even if it's not gonna be "in yr face romance", it's perfect! The part where Ren said they wouldn't be able to work together if Matsuri wasn't willing to open up and tell her if she was struggling w something really cuts to the Core of their conflict. Ppl pleaser who tries to hide her own pain x person who feels broken but Desperately wants to connect to someone really intimately and gets hurt and irritated by people who won't share their burdens w them is sooo delicious! Great recipe <3

I'd love for Ren to come out and feel fully developed as trans, but so often stories like this just drop the ball on developing that, and I know I'll be disappointed if it ends up being a "Yay I was really my AGAB all along" situation

To be honest, seeing how author is showing this theme and a comment who said to not expect a direct romance because the manga is introspective, I'm hopeful.

Even if Ren doesn't identify as woman and/or as a man, Ren would be still trans, as being enby is in the trans flag.

Not all enby people want to be labelled as trans.

They've been put under the trans umbrella, but every person decide what they identify as.

Perhaps I should have just said "Not Cis". But I suppose I have my guard up from past experiences, but this will probably be fine
