You know seeing it was one part I though it was going to be rushed or unsatisfying but it was nice.
It didn't feel rushed but I do think it could have benefited from some more fleshing out. It's still a lovely story but I would have liked to see a bit more of the development of their relationship.
There was missing something. It was ok I guess, but it felt too mawlish and predictable. Also the "familiy background story" felt more like a parody than heartbreaking. Maybe the next story is more convincing and thus better. :>
But maybe I compared it too much with "Misery" (Steven King), which had another direction.
That was... weird and disjointed, but I kinda liked it. I feel like the author had a lot more they wanted to show than they could reasonably fit into a short one-shot.
I wonder what exactly the story is with the family. I guess she could be from an affair of her mother's, but why would she be allowed to live on the same property as them and use their money?
