I have heard the Bad ends are pretty disturbing and dark so i'd advise skipping them if you hate that kinda thing.

Well they are called bad ends for a reason (and honestly who aims for a bad end anyway?).

Okaaay, just finished Itsuki's routes as well.

As a side note, I've always secretly shipped Nao x Sakuya for some reason. I'm happy that the game put some implications of Nao x Itsuki when Asuka went for Sakuya/Kyoko and Nao x Sakuya when Asuka went for Itsuki. At least our beloved Nao doesn't have to end up alone!

Most of my questions were cleared up, so that's good. Looks like the last ending I have to tackle is the After School Ending.

This game is pretty good, but a little on the short side (6 hours for me). I don't regret throwing almost $40 CAD at it, though.

My thoughts after clearing it (without the After School Ending):

  • Nao is still best girl, obviously.
  • Hooooooooly crap, Nao's bad ending is dark, but Itsuki's is on a whole other level. You know, about "becoming one" and all... and how Asuka's was eating "Itsuki's stew" even though Asuka was the one who cooked it and that she was "running out of ingredients." Ohhhh deaaaar...
  • Loved the game, even though I didn't think I would in the beginning.
  • Would definitely recommend this route order: Kaede (she can either go first or last, I think) > Nao > Sakuya > Itsuki. It helps story wise.
  • The bad ends are worth the read... I think... but they are really dark.
  • I also love that Asakura Azumi even made a note of the uh, stew. Seems like she found it incredibly amusing, haha.
  • After replaying part of Nao's route, it seems Kyouko was the one who fought with Nao in the hallway. Now I'm afraid I might have missed a lot of things.

Anyone know who Asuka's Seiyuu is? She sounds very familiar...

Asakura Azumi.

Some roles of hers from the top of my head include: Inukai Isuke in Akuma no Riddle, Hagiwara Yukiho from Idolm@sters, Shokuhou Misaki from Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S, Asia from Highschool DxD, Tsuyuri Kumin from Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, Tobisawa Misaki from Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm (or whatever it was called) and Shiina Mayu from the Lilycle Drama CD series (and the Lilycle game).

She has a LOOT of other roles too. Her voice can be rather annoying (see: Kumin or Asia), but it can also be really calming and mature (see: Misaki x2, Mayu, Isuke).

I believe she also does eroge or lots of VNs in general, but I don't really remember.

Honestly I did enjoy the game regardless of how stupid things got in the story xD
Kyoko was my best gal but they just had to favor that route and spoil that good ending.
Is it worth a buy or read? Probably not but its Yuri dammit so buy it anyway lol. At least it's entertaining. Otherwise choose wisely when buying a game that is exactly what it seems...

Don't think things are that stupid in the story. It's mostly coherent and rereading from the start, there's plenty of hints lying around. Saw much worse in others VN or mangas. Then again, a story worth is always a subjective matter.

I can't get enough to hearing Asuka, her VA really did a hell of a job. <3

I think a "story route" or true route would've been nice. By that, I mean something that reveals the whole truth of everyone's time at Haizawa... and the current status of the people that used to work at the facility, amongst other things. Something that actually tells a story rather than solely building relationships based on the past, I guess! So many concepts were thrown at us, but they were not utilized in the story - only referenced.

I think the story aspect in Itsuki's route had so much potential, but they missed out. This VN was a lot shorter than I thought and so many parts could've been fleshed out or expanded upon in my opinion.

It was still really fun to play through though.

But I agree that I really like Kyouko, but again, her character and back story could've really used more work. We roughly know what she's like, but I don't feel like it was nearly enough. Also, with Sakuya being reborn was... a little weird. I feel like, despite it being bittersweet, I would've preferred to see Asuka and Kyouko work out their kinks over time.

Kind of a necro, but I was busy with work, and the 4chan and Steam threads for this game. Just wanted to find another forum talking about this so I can air my opinion. I have a lot to say.

I'll start with the big con:

  • Translation standard is not up to par. Compared with Mangagamer's Yurirei and SonoHana, it's not even close. In almost every scene this game has voice clips spilling over into multiple text boxes, general spelling and grammar errors, awkward phrases everywhere (the worst of both the literal and liberal translation worlds). The bonus seiyuu messages are not subbed. The medical glossary was completely cut from the English and Chinese versions. The OP and ED are not subbed. While Yurirei did not have anything like the medical glossary, it had a subbed OP and ED, as well as full translated lyrics for the insert song "A. A. Ai". Subjectively, I preferred Mangagamer's much more weeb translation style of Yurirei and SonoHana anyway. If this game was originally slated to release a month ago, Nao calling her Onee-chan "Asky" must be only the beginning of the abomination that was the script they had at the original release date.

The localization, imo, is the biggest letdown of the game and the biggest roadblock to the game actually being worth $34-$40 USD. If this game had been localized by Mangagamer, and with all the effort of Yurirei's and SonoHana's localizations put together (ahem, actually fitting each voice clip into one text box), with bonus feelies like an MP3/FLAC soundtrack (I cannot find the soundtrack uploaded on the internet, and having to convert the .bgm files in the game folders is an inconvenience), subbed everything, and some translated bonus stories outside the game (yes, they exist), then the game would make a much better case for costing almost as much as Yurirei and SonoHana put together.

Now (Nao) I'll try and narrate my experience with this game.

I fell in love with Nao since the very first scene trying to wake up Asuka. <3 The way her route unfolded was surprising

That was me.

The only thing I like more than yuri is cars, so by not-so-coincidence a random Eurobeat song from Initial D popped into my head whenever I got excited playing Yurirei and it stuck the whole time I was playing it. "I Just Wanna Call You Nao"

The song came back with a vengeance. Excitement levels shot through the roof (or should I say, shot through the Okujou...)

This isn't to say the game's soundtrack is bad. It's quite good. They really nailed the feel of Nao's theme 癒しのおでこ (Healing Forehead). It definitely has that domestic feel to it; I can easily imagine Asuka's walking into the dorm and Nao's peering out of the kitchen and dropping the "Okaeri, Onee-chan!" as I listen.

I decided to aim for Nao first before I even got to the first choice. Playing it blind however, I drew the "After School" ending because I screwed up on the last choice that decides whether or not I would drop into the Nao route. Then, drawing into the Nao route and continuing to play blind, I screwed up on the last choice again and drew her bad end. Platinum mad.

After getting Nao's good end, I finally hit the walkthrough and ran through Kaede > Itsuki > Sakuya. For some reason, the Kaede-sensei route is more or less completely disconnected from the other 3 girls', while the other 3 are so interconnected they all leave huge questions that you had to play another of their routes to answer. The 3 routes also have a fuckton of repeated scenes between each other, reducing the game's effective length.

I think that person yelling through the phone about Nao's drugs may have been Sumika, from Itsuki's lab.

Tangent for sound and graphics:

Localization aside, this is a huge upgrade from Yurirei in terms of production value. Everyone is fully voiced, even some of the minor characters like Yuki-chan and the Machi-Michi Combi. Ironically, even though it was Imai Asami (Kaede) and Tamura Yukari (Sakuya) being in the game that pushed me over the edge to splash $40 minus the 15% discount to buy it, neither of the girls were even in my top 3 (including Asuka). Nao's seiyuu puts a noticeable squeak into her character's voice (I won't say it's bad, just sayin'), but Asuka's does a really bang-up job injecting some energy, comic relief and witty banter that I really missed in Yurirei's MC Yuna (While Hina is my favorite character in Yurirei, she wasn't very outwardly energetic or clever either, making their couple a bit of a downer). She has the zaniness that reminds me of Neptune from the Neptune series, being a lazy, silly Onee-chan, but Asuka's character can actually feel hurt and grieve, and she really does love and appreciate her imouto; as a result, Asuka's character is much more round and deep than Nepko's.

The game is in glorious HD. The art is much more "flavorful" than Yurirei's: while Yurirei has a more "realistic", muted and brown and baggy look to it, this game has a much more typical colorful exaggerated "anime" style like SonoHana. Just look at that pink hair and sick eyelash game.

This game may not have porn, but it's got nice fanservice.

It's not technically perfect though. The art's biggest weakness is hands and feet. It also has a bad case of "cheeky mouth." The ugliest offense the art commits is the occasional time where the eyes drift too wide and too low on the face, committing possibly the greatest sin in anime artwork: the "kawaii uguu" face.

It was probably the piss buddies scene where I screamed my first "WHAAAAAAAAT?!" and began to panic. My excitement for the game took a bit of a dip. It recovered after, peaking at maximum "HNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGG" and "HOW CAN ONE GIRL... BE SO BEST?!" when Nao dropped the "Onee-chan, you like Sakuya-san, right? I'll support you. I know you're a sucker for looks. Do you prefer girls with large breasts or girls with small breasts?" multi-whammy. (I will say Asuka made an epic question-dodge there, going "I-I think they both have their unique appeal!", an answer that will make even Rito from To Love-Ru proud)

Unfortunately, it wasn't the same after that. By the time Sakuya kisses Asuka, then Kyouko stabs Asuka in the stomach I had disconnected emotionally from the game and thought to myself "I don't care anymore!". This is probably a defense mechanism of mine, and my problem. The song in my head changed to this. Then when the story about the lab and the superpowers was revealed the song changed into this. But later, it really reminded me more of X-Men, it's just that I didn't have a song from that series ever stuck into my head.

In the end, something bugged me about the Nao route that kept me from enjoying it more than my favorite SonoHana couple (Mai x Reo) and I'm not exactly sure why. After replaying the Nao route a few times, it's either because the route was one good and well-timed CG away from being great, or there was an issue in the writing. I don't really like how in the end they kept on doing this incest roleplay shit, even though they weren't really sisters. It makes the romance feel less genuine, I think. Seeing Sakuya's good end did no favors either. Not only did that one have marriage, it even had an IPS baby!! It felt almost too much like a "true end" and left me a little bitter as a militant Nao fan.

Nao though, goddamn. She managed to combine basically my two favorite character archetypes: the adorable, sweet, cute, innocent imouto/pseudo-imouto (like Akari from Yuru Yuri), and the artificial, superpowered, dark, brooding, lonely loli (best example of someone that also combines both to great effect is in my avatar, Fate from the Nanoha franchise. Now that I think about it, that memory of Asuka naming Nao Nao reminds me of the "call my name" scene in the end of the first season of Nanoha, which still makes me tear up just thinking about it).

Another area where this game has that exaggerated "anime" style making it closer to SonoHana than Yurirei is the melodrama. Instead of semi-realistically tackling homophobia like Yurirei, this game takes place in a world where girls loving girls is the most normal thing in the world, and dodges even mentioning the words "lesbian" or "gay". It gets much, much wackier and more supernatural than both of them put together though. Itsuki's and Sakuya's bad ends would make Nitroplus and "Urobutcher" Urobuchi Gen proud. Because of the IPS reference earlier in the game, I misinterpreted Itsuki's bad end as just Asuka getting IPS pregnant with Itsuki's baby, and then Asuka eating to feed both herself and the baby while Itsuki's spirit appears whenever she feeds the baby. Big mistake.

In closing, this a very interesting and flavorful yuri VN with a much different taste than Yurirei, while at least providing much more story content than that one SonoHana VN available on Steam (I'd go so far as to say it's about as long as every SonoHana VN ever fully translated, put together) right now. I enjoyed it. It's a refreshing twist from the relative blandness of Yurirei. But because of its crappy localization and not being as long as Yurirei, it's a hard sell at $34-$40. If Michael no Otome-tachi, the first real full-length SonoHana game, ever gets a full Mangagamer localization and release at $34 after discounts or less, it will steal a ton of thunder from this game. But until then, this game has certainly carved out its niche within a niche as a yuri VN with 4 routes, each with a different pretty girl to romance, very nice art, music and voice acting, and high doses of both cuteness and craziness.

Edit! I found the bundled Drama CD for this game, called "Tomorrow 2". http://www.mediafire.com/download/x1wr3xphftda3et/HakuAi-+%28White+Robe+Love+Syndrome%29+Drama+CD.rar

Ah, the Japanese fascination with English is as great as the weeaboos' fascination of Japanese. Every girl gets their own little after-story, the Nao one was basically her route in a nutshell: it starts out absolutely HNNNGGGGGG, but then gets all fucked up in the middle, before ending cute. After listening to this one intently a few times, I think my biggest issue with the story of this game is that is never got as sappy as SonoHana. This game is more self-aware, and loves to whiplash between cute and fucked up too much for my liking.

My Japanese is very poor, but the gist of the after-story is:

Nao is still a little insane and masochistic, and secretly wishes to do kinky pet roleplay with her Onee-chan. "Wan, wan! Goshujin-Onee-chan-sama! Nao wa ureshii, wan!" She tells Itsuki and Sakuya, who are horrified, but Sakuya tells Nao to tell her Onee-chan her wish honestly. Asuka is also horrified, and pulls out her last resort: an "Onee-chan order". She orders Nao to give up wishing for kinky pet roleplay and to be her wife instead. Eventually Nao agrees, but her wish changes from kinky pet roleplay to calling Asuka Onee-chan even after they marry.

The old "suddenly forcing the player to gag during an emotional scene" once again rears it's ugly head.XDXDXD

Why is this a thing =_= "How can you say you love her if you won't even eat her vomit?"

i came across this on Steam when i was watching the Co-Optional Podcast and TotalBiscurit talks about a MuvLuv VR Game and that it might be infringing copyright with another MuvLuv game.

i checked that both games came from the same developer and when i was looking at their similar games i saw Nurse Love Addiction and one image drew my attention right away http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/485040/ss_f42608937cf0ec6499bcc2716d14b1dc73f916f5.1920x1080.jpg?t=1468178875

I've seen a few TotalBiscuit videos but I've never seen him talk about Japanese games like VNs.

Yeah, you're the pink-hair girl and a cuck master. You can take either of those two other girls ;) but why break them up when you can hook up with your sweet imouto instead?

And I want 1080p CGs of this game now, especially if they're native and not upscaled.

I honestly don't know what to interpret from this game based on everyone's comments and randomly clicking the spoiler tags o_O I was pretty psyched about it just on the art alone since it had the right polished shoujo style I've been waiting for in a yuri game. I'm a bit conflicted in wanting to know what to expect yet trying not to spoil the entire game outright. Am I right in interpreting the game has many dark twisted bad endings and the happy endings are... normal?

I've only finished the routes for one character so far (Nao), but her "bad" ending isn't really bad, just amusingly messed up, lol. Her good ending is a cute and statisfying conclusion.

While I can't speak for the other character's routes, there are some pretty major twists in general. I really liked it though.

Well. That was a trip. I was entirely unprepared for what lay beneath the surface. Prefacing the story as "bittersweet" is such a massive understatement that it has its own gravity field.

Full recommendation.

Ok, so I've finished all except Itsuki's route, and for those who got disturbed with Nao's bad end, isn't Sakuya's Bad End more disturbing since based on Sakuya's non-response, am I right to assume that who Asuka was with was a dead body?

Or maybe I'm just not that shocked with Nao's SM end since I'm kinda into that stuff? lol

Anyway, this game is really something and I highly recommend it although I'm somewhat disappointed since it contained supernatural and sci-fi themes instead of purely yuri flirting & romance
