Regarding the TN notes at the end, I don't think the takeaway here is that Emma is NOT in love with Suzu, I think the "playing with feelings" and "manipulation" is just Emma misusing her position and Suzu's trust in her to get her to fall in love with her instead. That's why she tells Suzu that she might be ready to move on (she's not, but she wants to plant the idea). Why would Emma do this if she's NOT in love with Suzu? Nako also seems to love Suzu so I think a nasty love triangle is what's going to happen

To be fair, we don't know anything about Emma's backstory, unlike we Suzuran, her past and present is basically all hidden, and I do think we might get a more precise look at her behaviour by knowing it...

Apart from that, a nasty love triangle is not out of the picture, and I'm all in for it!!!

[...]Nako also seems to love Suzu[...]

I think it can also be interpreted as Nako loves Suzu as a little sister? Like how a mother concerned about her daughter's friends?
Can't rule out the possibility of Nako later finding out herself to be bi and joining the fight, though :D

I thought it was pretty obvious what Emma was trying to do. Why else would she really randomly ask her to use her like that? And she also found out the person she loves wants some freaky deaky incest.

Oof this is gonna get so much more angsty until Suzu gets over her COUSIN. (gross).

It feels like on some level Suzu does understand how much shes taking advantage of Emma, and yet can't bring herself to stop, the fact that it's Emma who's being used and hurt by Suzu is quite interesting

I didn't expect a Yuri Manga to reference, much less quote Bobby Worst. That's ironically refreshing.

The fits were pretty fire this chapter. Also love that things are out in the open for Emma.

Now more similar to Kuzu no Honkai, even fiance look a bit the silly male teacher from it.
But Emma has a lot more charming than Eechan

What an emotional chapter damn!
This is how you know it's the same author behind "the summer you were there"

So this chapter they kiss and they both cry after and feel bad about it, which would seem like a bad sign for their relationship, but I think they’re both doing really well with each other and just don’t realize it. Emma feels bad because Suzu is in love with Yuki and is just using her as a substitute, which is basically what’s going on. What this chapter shows though, I think, is that Suzu is already beginning to see Emma as her own romantic interest. While kissing she thinks of Emma “Emma you’ve always… You’ve always accepted me for who I am.” And then after “Emma is really kind. She always accepts me, regardless of how ugly I become. She always comforts me.” Which is extremely promising, because she fell in love with Yuki for those exact reasons. Yuki accepted her when others rejected her, was kind, and comforted her when she was hurting. Now Emma is filling that role.

I think part of what’s digging at Suzu is that she’s noticed that Emma isn’t as sexually eager as she is. In an earlier chapter she found herself surprised (perhaps disappointed) that her agreeing to a relationship with Emma didn’t mean they’d be kissing a lot. She teases Emma for being embarrassed at “spicy scenes”. In this chapter, Emma initiates the kiss but Suzu is the one who gets really into it (as if, maybe, she had been holding back). I think the fact that Suzu is older plays into this. Of course, Suzu hasn’t realized that the one Emma loves is her yet (I think. Emma isn’t hiding it very well. Maybe she’s subconsciously picking up on it and feels bad about playing with her feelings.)

Personally, I don’t expect this to go in a toxic or tragic direction. I think they’ll have their ups and downs and their dramas, but in the end they will be happy together.

I would be fairly optimistic at this point, but the series page with its little synopsis reduces my confidence quite a bit.

"The Princess and Prince of Hibiscus Girls' Academy, Jougasaki Suzuran and Emma Grace Rosenthal, and the story of their waning love, 'til its fading end."

I don't know where that comes from, and I don't know if it might somehow be misinterpreting or deliberately misleading about just what love might be waning and fading, but on the surface it doesn't look happy.

Somehow I knew whom Emma loves by the second chapter.

Holy yuri! Angst!! I love this series so far. Now just give me a happy ending and I'll cry tears of joy.
