My main problem that there is almost no romance in the serie. In the last 13 years in Citrus life how many kiss happened between Yuzu and Mei? I mean no off screen kisses of course...
I even do not remember on the last one...

The serie should focus on love, romance and drama. Not on the school, work, Arata and other background characters. One episode is ok from them time to time. But a year's worth of episodes?

I want to see why Mei love Yuzu. Really.

Actually so real, it feels like sometimes Saburouta forgets that it’s a romance manga and not a slice of life, plus even though they canonically both have issues yuzu’s distrust of mei is so infuriating sometimes like YOU proposed to her and you can’t trust her to just talk business with her childhood friend

The thing for me is that the average slice of life in my experience has better or at least more consistent character chemistry than Citrus has had for awhile. We're so far past the point of it usually not feeling like a romance series anymore that I honestly don't even know what to call it at this point.

real? real like two 40 year old japanese salary women who leave for work at 8 in the morning and get home at 8 at night, say goodnight to their partner and go to sleep. I can't believe that two teenagers who are engaged, who live together and who are living their courtship behave like this. where is the romance, where is the passion? .... I don't agree that the main problem with citrus+ is its periodicity, what it showed in a part of the readers is indifference and boredom. it's curious but looking back, the arc that generated the most gender debate between two sides was not precisely one of yuzu and mei, it was that of harumin and matsuri that ended with that random kiss of matsuri, which came to nothing and as we see today "never happened", it "died". Sara and Nina, Shirapon, the mystery of Mei's mother, Harumin's sister, even Matsuri's brother, Nene, Himeko, Mei's father, Yuzu's mother.... there are already many familiar characters to move the story forward and give development to the characters we already know, to introduce new ones that no one is interested in.

And Yuzu and Mei's romance is intrinsically linked to school and work. Mei opened yo Yuzu because she was the first one that supported her on her dream of succeeding Shou with no strings attached. Mei outright spells it out loud to Arata in the chapter no posted (hopefully yet) here, saying that Yuzu's love is the reason she's able to push forward her plans for the academy.

There's no "should" really. It's the authors story and if the vibe of Mei and Yuzu isn't your level of "loving," or you don't like that the school is an important part of the story, that's fine but that's the story and has been since near the beginning of even the original series. It's fine to checkout if you're not digging it--the series is what it is by now. I understand some dislike but the repeated dislike-chain that forms every new chapter (and every in-between) is a bit old. Maybe I should take my own advice though.

I get it, there's series on here that I don't enjoy seeing hate for every chapter. I try to be the live and let live type myself, with Citrus I don't hate the series and I'm glad people are still enjoying it, I just wish at the very least there was more of a glowing spark between our main couple, because unfortunately that spark is currently a bit cold in my opinion.

Seriously? The ambush kiss that Mei resisted and that earned Yuzu a double slap in the face is supposed to be evidence of how romantic their relationship is?

In Citrus, the love between Yuzu and Mei was always the driving force behind the story, even ahead of Aihara Academy, because if it hadn't been like that, the wedding we would have had would have been Mei and the boy manager's and Mei would already be pregnant hahaha. Citrus+ covers the story of the engaged Yuzu and Mei before the wedding and after 7 volumes the romance between Yuzu and Mei has been scarce and anyone who is not blind can see that. I'm not seeing a relationship of equals. I see a Yuzu going out of her way for Mei, but I don't see it so much on Mei's side. Sometimes I see her so cold towards Yuzu that it's scary, maybe because Sabu nerfed Mei from the beginning of Citrus+. I think Yuzu's great support in Citrus+ has been Harumin and I've seen more chemistry between them than what is supposed to be the main couple. It's my personal opinion and that's what these forums are for, to give opinions, because the other option is to disappear like most of the people who commented on this forum at the beginning of Citrus+

Now a Yuzu aggression towards Mei do we consider it a romantic scene? That scene is toxic, it is not consented act

But it is a kiss, so people who say “they don’t kiss” are (technically) liars, liars, pants on fire.

Or something.

I appreciate how Arata serves as a lens for Sabu to depict the impact of Yuzu and Mei's relationship, highlighting their personalities and unique style of love through their influence on him. It also gives us insight into their strength as a couple, which gets tied to this school project. The merger feels like that one final test for them both literally and figuratively, so it makes sense that it leads into their marriage timeline-wise. Loved that last page.

I'm still unsure of whether he understands that they're dating or not. That hasn't been clarified right? He says some stuff that leads both ways. I wouldn't be surprised if Mei told him though (maybe even off screen during this chapter?).

I have always shipped Yuzu with Harumin. Never found Yuzu+Mei engaging since Mei is little warmer than a dead fish.

Agreed, Arata adds an interesting perspective as an outsider to Mei and Yuzu's relationship while also serving as a foil to Yuzu. And yeah, I think Arata doesn't fully grasp that Mei and Yuzu are actually dating each other and simply assumed they were dating someone else. I still have the inkling that Arata might be gay so this misunderstanding could help his own character arc and thus, mirror Yuzu's perfectly.

Personally I loved this page

It perfectly shows how much Mei loves Yuzu even if she still struggles to show it to Yuzu properly. A far cry of the Mei from the start of the story.

That same image of Mei's expression in any other series would lead to 4 pages of comments on sexual assault.

So that everything is not critical. I have to say that this chapter in general I liked. I liked the interaction of Matsuri and Sayaka, I liked to see Himeko and I liked Mei's words But as I always say the words are demonstrated with facts . And if I have to stay with my favorite scene, I stay with Matsuri praising Himeko's talent, even Himeko herself was surprised at Matsuri's words hahahaha. In general a chapter Nice, if there is something to criticize is that I would like to see the conversation Matsuri had with those two girls.

That short conversation would have been nice to see, yeah.

About d**n time! Months just for that. Was nice to hear Mei tell him that her and Yuzu were in love. After so much one-sidedness, a heartfelt emotion from the ice princess. Gotta love it!
