Ch 304: Tag should be Elisha x Honoka. (Eli x Honoka takes us to the Love Live! characters.) I think this might be my favourite pairing in the whole series? Extrovert x Gloomy Girl just really appeals for some reason.

Is 304 shocking to anyone else?! Ed and Elisha being close prior to her becoming an exchange student, and also conversing primarily in Japanese way back then (I read the raws a few weeks ago-- only Ed's "Noooo, oh God" is written in English). I usually love the effort at cross-cultural details in this manga, like the example of Elisha naturally using dollars and Honoka having to convert it to yen in this same chapter. So the sudden lack of detail in this development kind of bummed me out.

Then again, it more or less serves to give an explanation for why she's staying with him in the first place; he's a family friend or relative and she had visited him previously. I may be a tad overly invested in the general worldbuilding and continuity in this manga lol

Honoka's older sister loving her gives me joy, she always seems so...aloof but this time we got to see her more human with emotions and all, even cuddling with Honoka reading stories¡

The last full chapter that was fully focused on Ai x Chie was in 2023. I’m wishing this one was a bit longer to make up for it, but that color page will do for now.

I thought so too initially, but if you look at Eli and Ian's talk in ch 290, a lot of this is foreshadowed. It's Eli's first meeting with Ian, but she knows Ed already and Ian implies Eli's visited Japan before.

Kaoru didn't yell at her, but she wasn't very friendly. They talk in 288 and 290.

There were plenty of times before where I downright didn't like Kaoru at all as a character, but even I have always had to admit that she genuinely cares a whole lot about her sister and would go through a wall for her. Those chapters where she got to see Honoka glow and finally find her place in the world have been quite moving.

honoka and elisha are my favorite pairing, so I'm always happy when they get a new chapter. I really hope eli ends up staying... ;___; but long distance gfs would be cute too, reminds me of that one doujin where a girl takes a vacation and ends up dating a girl who doesn't speak the same language as her.

Probably that, but it's funny because Mira's series "The Sea, You, and the Sun" could also kind of fit that description, even though those are two different vibes. Both good.
