Can't rule it out, but she may also just have witnessed his crimes. Really depends on how bad the father was - she certainly had no love left for him as well, but with the three of them having to live together he may have shielded her from the worst, at least, which is why she didn't hate him as much as her uncle.

I liked the ending, but I wish we could've seen a bit of them living together.

It's vague enough that she could have found out simply by having overheard her dad and uncle speaking candidly about how the latter is a grade A scumbag and the former a grade B for enabling/covering for him, which would be plenty to hate. But sadly I wouldn't bet on it. Particularly since she somehow got hit when they had they had their falling out.

Had a brief moment of wondering if all the mention of poison in the first half was going to end up as foreshadowing, honestly.

I also would have liked to see the two gals interact as adults beyond the dramatic reunion.

Oh I really liked this. It had a very poetic feeling to it, like with how far they took the poison and bee metaphors without it feeling forced. And I've always liked these kinds of semi-abstracted stories of children who experience terrible things finding happiness and a place to thrive regardless. The beauty of survival. :)

My favorite part was seeing that Hachi became a construction worker. Idk y, but I I really wanna see construction worker yuri
