Yeah it's not. Fujii is used to getting gifts and money from boyfriends, but Tougou just wants to give her money because she likes to see Fujii happy. Despite that Fujii only knows how to respond by going, oh are we dating now? I guess we are! Tougou though is pretty indifferent until the very end. Basically it starts as an awkward relationship where the two of them engage in the only ways they know how, but it's not actually paid dating.
