They handle all the Ana Sanchez girl's love releases (Sirius, Alter Ego, Alter Ego 2) and a few other good ones, so I've never really thought about their content strategy much. I don't assume customers will care who the publisher is though, but I don't know anything about that anyway.

Glancing at my collection and the only Tokyopop I own is Still Sick, a random Yuri Espoir, and my childhood KareKano collection. Maybe they just don't get titles I notice. Or are bad at promoting.

tbh, I'm slow on this manga because it's redraw heavy, the bubbles are narrow vertically and the Japanese is extremely colloquial, making it difficult to give it justice.

Plus, people are complaining all the time because there's a guy... :P

I probably won't drop it, but TP may overtake me if they publish whole volumes at a time, so if people are interested, they buy it from them. Dunno about the quality of their releases though.

I do love this series and it's very funny to see this guy cry his eyes out because he watched a movie about a one-sided love and all it can remind him off is the exact relationship he has with Hibiki. I'm not normally meanspirited but lol, lmao even. Shoulda know better my guy.

Thanks a lot for the translation!! This manga seriously deserves to get a lot more attention than it currently is, at least among the English-speaking audience (it appears to be doing quite well in Japan, thankfully).

The official release just came out and vol 1 finishes with chapter 13. There’s a nice color front and back page and about 30 pages of extra content at the end. I’ve not read through it yet.

• This is redraw heavy, with floating text over art everywhere, so it takes me days just to redraw a chapter.
• This has been licensed and the 1st volume is already out, so there's little point in continuing
• This is actually not easy to give the translation justice, because the characters are speaking a really colloquial/slangy Japanese.
• And last but not least, people just couldn't get into this manga because the co-MC kissed a guy.

So, if you want to read it, just buy Tokyo Pop's release.

Just finished reading Tokyopop's version of vol 2 and really enjoying the series a lot. Unfortunate people didn't give it a chance because of the dude when it was clear from the beginning he was never a danger to the couple and it's even clearer as the series goes on. I love the introductions of the other couples and honestly was pretty surprised they made basically every character introduced gay (like wow even the boyfriend's sister who showed up for 2 chapters hahaha).

Definitely recommend those who enjoyed what was translated here to continue reading it through the TP version. Hope it doesn't take too long for vol 3 to come out.

Yeah, it’s been really good through what’s been released so far. It’s easier to see why it took off in Japan early on as it did. I think vol 3 came out today actually.

I also saw the official name was changing, but I think it’s too late for the English release. At this point I’m just used to really long nonsensical named manga so it isn’t a barrier for me at least.

There is a new sequel series of this that follows the main couple's dating life. The main series just ended, so this is a quick jump right into a continuation because of popularity. Official English translation is well behind that, though, but has reached volume 4, with 5 coming soon.

Yeah, I know, I was in the thick of things defending the manga here lol. Sorry it got such a negative reception due to people not understanding foreshadowing (and also due to biphobia most likely tbh).

I'm surprised to see that the later volumes of this have never been ripped anywhere on the internet before. At least not publicly hidden behind some wall. Looks like truly the only way to get it is to buy it.

Probably to prevent exactly what you mentioned and to make sure people come to the same conclusion you did. Might also just be other things tying it up. It's digital in Japanese and the brand new sequel series/continuation is on normal online purchase sites.

Unlikely. It's been a very long time since I've seen something that was only available in paperback format. They wouldn't suddenly start doing something like that normally.
