What is Volume 99.9 supposed to be? I mean, why is it named like that?

anyone who has read 99 and SS, are both of these side stories/future stories compared to the main LN? Last I read was volume 11 and want to know if adashima 99 comes right after it or just a collection of short stories in the universe.

99 is the collection of DVD short stories but with 2 new additional stories. SS is a collection of short stories as well. All in universe, for both.

Quite a few interesting moments in the last chapter of SS with the two moms, that was a very enjoyable read. I got a bit emotional at the end, not gonna lie (^^)

I surely enjoyed reading Shimamura spend an entire chapter talking about how beautiful and perfect Adachi is. That said, Adachi's quite amazing in how she's still able to rationalize her thoughts despite being incredibly flustered. Not your usual "gay panic", I guess.

is this what the anime was based on? I liked the general idea of it, but the romance felt too one-sided in it for me.. let's see how this version compares

First chapter of volume 12 has been up on sneikkimies' site for a few days now, thanks for reminding me to make a note here as well.

To those who have been keeping up with this.

I've been wondering if I should get back to it or not. I enjoyed this series a lot up until volume 8-9, but then I started to lose interest with each chapter and I don't think I ever got around to reading volume 11 at all. To clarify: the reason I dropped it was because we were getting more and more AU/side stories with each volume and I just wasn't very interested in all that. There's only so many "what if" irrelevant scenarios I can handle. I remember feeling that things I expected to see —e.g. first kiss or a conclusion to the Tarumi situation— never happened and instead I was reading it about the 100th parallel universe where they meet. Which I suppose is okay, just not my cup of tea.

So my question is, are there any chapters from the new volumes that would be worthwhile for me to read? And by that I mean chapters that continue the story of the protagonists that we know instead of alternate versions of them in parallel universes. Time skips and glimpses to the future are okay (I actually really enjoyed that one chapter where Shimamura talks with her mother a few years later), just no more parallel universes please
