Pleasantly surprised seeing WILLOW in here! COPINGMECHANISM is a great album though, highly recommend if you want some good grunge-pop.

Also super cool of the friend to give it a try, I hope this leads to Aya being able to talk about music more comfortably around her friends!

but to be honest, this is not really the music for "when you just want to smash something up". it's to less "in the face". when i read this sentence, "otep" immediately popped into my head. this is rather the music for such a moment, at least in my opinion ;o)

If I like a song, then I like a song. The backstory of the artist doesn't really affect that for me. I'd have to cut out a lot of the music I like if I let that kind of thing affect what I listen to.

After thinking about this for a while some time ago, my stance is essentially this: I understand TV/radio not playing songs of problematic artists (e.g. most famously the R.Kelly ban), since they do make money from this, but I can still listen to anything I want on my own since this will not be beneficial to them in any way (whether I want to is another question).
