^In my experience half the time they do that they don't actually understand the first thing about the relevant topic(s) and the result is worse than just handwaving it... Ohmygod I got whiplash from this because I LOVED this manga so much as a teen bc I didn't see a lot of yuri manga with dark skinned characters during the time it came out. Got I miss them so dearly.
