Sarcastic responses from site staff to comments that are very obviously breaking forum rules don't seem wrong to you?

I feel like you’re trying to interpret drpepperfan’s first comments in the worst possible light. Someone being upset or even just disappointed that a former yuri artist now only does het does not count as “het bashing”, and while ObtainCheese’s rant probably does count, replying “ok” to it is not the horrible sin you’re making it out to be.

I feel like you're trying to excuse and minimize behavior from site staff that is unacceptable because you know you'd also be implicated in attacking the artist. Very interesting.

^ You do realise that the site staff are the ones who dictate what is or is not acceptable, right? Contrary to popular belief, this is not a public space, it is a private site. And I have no idea how Nora would be "implicated" in this scenario of yours at all.

I’ve seen a lot of Girls Und Panzer content here recently, so much so that I actually started watching the show to see why so many yuri fans like it

First of all. drpepperfan first comments hardly counts as "het bashing". It was simply stating disappointment in artist not doing yuri anymore. It wasn't insulting them or saying they can't do it like the next poster. Second, the best way to deal with people like that, outside of warning or banning them is, you know, ignoring them and not giving them attention or arguing with them. Thirdly rules are more guidelines for moderators and in the end they're the ones who decided how to interpret them. And fourthly, if you're so set on following rules, did you forgot about 1 specifically saying to not do "back-sitting moderating"? Something you're currently doing? Towards the freaking admin of the site? Seriously what's up with your obsession with defending het past few weeks? Het really doesn't need protecting. It's doing just fine.

All right. Just to clear something up. There is no rule against "het bashing" here, nor is there any rule outright disqualifying harsh criticism of any given artist. ObtainCheese may have stepped over the line with the level of depth and vulgarity expressed, but it's hardly a post worthy of getting this excited over. drpepperfan can speak for himself but to foist the worst possible interpretation upon him, and then cry injustice over it, is absurd.

Driving at other user's motivations, calling for enforcement, and stirring up this much of a fuss over such an innocuous comment is not okay. You've been warned multiple times in the last month for making posts without thinking them through, what makes you think this is acceptable behaviour? I think you need to take some time off, Throbelisk. You've been banned for the time being, the length of which will be adjusted upon further review.

With that said, I'd just like to reiterate that carrying on these conversations in this manner, from all sides, is generally a fruitless endeavour. The thread may be cleaned up in the near future. No further posts on this matter will be entertained. Thank you everyone, take care.

^ It is not even a recent trend. We have periodic shifts when more GuP is being uploaded, followed by periods where there is less of it, but it has been here constantly for the better part of the decade.

It is a show with a huge all-girls cast, colourful teams and personalities, and national stereotypes (or rather, roleplaying national stereotypes, all the girls are Japanese, except Pravda's Klara) that also provide additional avenues for shipping (it is basically what made Kay/Darjeeling so popular, the two of them have canonically like, one actual scene where they are in the same room - the tent meeting in the movie - and they do not exchange a single word on-screen).
