It was pretty cool to see an enthusiastic, little shit of a Tokiko who lets herself enjoy things. Wish Akira was chosen as the heroine on Satsuki's side though
it really was. glad she finally gets to have fun and enjoy herself, even if it's in this little non-canon pocket dimension
I've heard when a suicidal person decides to commit suicide sometimes they might seem happy in the short time they have left, is this a myth or is it true? I wonder if this is what happened to Tokiko or if she was lying to herself about being happy. That final bonus chapter is gonna hurt.
I've heard this myth too, that when a suicidal person decides to, they think they will feel relief from the pain they have been experiencing. I don't know how true this myth of seeming happy is, but Tokiko's statements seem similar to this sentiment. Like she doesn't have to deal with not being accepted or understood anymore.
My own take is that Tokiko has always been quick to latch onto acting how the people she respects think she should act, which is maybe why she feels so freed. Her friend from the orphanage tells her to be happy, she tries to be "happy" at all times. Her father tells her to prioritize herself and she decides to let him die so he is no longer her priority. Tokiko's sister tells her not to blame herself and she throws herself into the serial killer case so she feels like she is not at fault. And Natsuki had been the only one successful to get her out of some of those flawed conclusions.
This curse is awful.
Seems like every time someone tries to enforce their will on Tokiko, they end up dead. Will to kill her? Dead. Will to see her happy? Dead. Will to understand or accept her? Dead. It's fitting that she only dies when she finally feels that she's the one in control of her life.
Ryouko sure does like protagonists surrounded by death. It's interesting how this protagonist is kind of the inverse of the one from her other series, completely apathetic to the death around her rather than devoting every second of her life to preventing it. It would be very interesting if the two are set in the same universe
Ah yes, Assault Lily. The story featuring Yuyu and Riri, whose in-canon ship name is Yuri. I didn't realize there was a manga for this series, but I'm very excited to see what it's like
It sounds like they have actual, proper art museums where the author lives.
None of that scam modern art crap with minimal effort just to make a buck by touting it highly.
Thanks to the internet,REAL art can be shared en masse, and this series is the meta of that.
Not to imply that art's value is measured by the effort put into creating it (it's not) but a lot of modern art actually takes a lot of effort. All art is real art, there's no sense in being elitist about it.
Really sad this one’s ending soon. There’s so few good monster girl yuri series, and even fewer series featuring a disabled protagonist. Oh well, I look forward to whatever Neji’s next project is, at least
