The way I read it, the girl did confessed to the senpai who cares for her, but senpai rejected, probably didn't want to change the then current friendship, and then suddenly died before any other progress were made. Really an emotion equivalent of stubbing toes to read this one.

Well that was nothing. Didn't expand upon the characters to give any meaning to anything that happens to them. I guess it was the "write a boring story that attempts to pull heart strings in under 5 pages" twitter challenge?

A lot of the lines don't really make sense if she died, particularly the ones about rejection and "didn't you want to see me."

She could be a “ghost” or something. But ya I’m split fifty-fifty.
