Ok, makes sense. These chapters are being released based on the pixiv numbering whereas anilist is probably going by the volume count.

Chapter 22 + 23 on pixiv is chapter 12 in the volume.

Agreed. Considering how blunt she's been during their conversation, she's probably just getting Kayo to reaffirm her own feelings or something. Mahiro might actually have a crush on her but I think she's a better person than that. I could be wrong cause I'd just prefer the drama didn't head that way though.

I get that the writer probably wanted to expand on this character since their role in the story is so bland and minimal that it feels wasteful to even have her as a character, but the solution to thats is not really to give them another role that is even more "functional" than the first... Love rivals tend to be woefully underdeveloped as characters as well.
