The wording might have been referring to who the birthmother was, statingbthat her daughter did not carry her during pregnancy. The author might be the only one who knows for certain.

So, if the oni really does get pregnant, wouldn’t their baby be both her daughter and great granddaughter? I don’t know how family relations work in this kind of unique situation, but that seems like it’d be funny.
