I really like takemiyas stories, but she kinda missed the mark with this one.

I'm all for crazy plots, but this was just so nonsensical and all over the place that it ended up giving nothing interesting to think about.

I skimmed through it because I wasn't overly interested in reading it, so I missed the maid and dead twin part. I reread it after seeing how short it was and...

I was half expecting the twist to be that the twin WASN'T dead.

"Surprise! It really was just a rumor!"

I like this but it feels unfinished. Why is the maid considered insane? Is it because she puts up with the abuse? Did she kill the twin sister with some warped perception that she'd score with the big sister in her fragile state? By that i mean is a case of a character not being afraid to hurt the person they love if it means they can get together with them in the end.

I often don't like Takemiya Jin's works, they from what I remember write a lot of weird and/or grim dark stories. So I'm kind of shocked that people are surprised that this story was weird, while reading this I could only think, "Oh great here Takemiya goes again". I always want to give new works a fair chance regardless of author, but yeah I definitely didn't enjoy this one-shot unfortunately.

@FluffyCow You must be thinking of a different author (there's several who fit your description). Takemiya Jin's manga are almost all romance-based with light to moderate drama and happy endings. The amount of stories from her that don't fit that mold is extremely low. If one of her works has a bad ending, it is usually because it's a 2 part work (which is why people were asking if it was truly complete).

The amount of stories from her that don't fit that mold is extremely low. If one of her works has a bad ending, it is usually because it's a 2 part work (which is why people were asking if it was truly complete).

Maby Kodama, I'd like to think Takemiya has more comedic plots with drama with mostly happy endings or sometimes ambiguous ones.

Edit: If she went through a lot of surgery to look identical though, she definitely could have had a breast reduction to match as well since she was willing to go so far.
