Yeah I actually thought to my self "well, that's a death flag if I ever saw one".

It also seems as if they have lost someone already, a third person in their circle, but who knows if it's the person whose soul is supposedly needing to be saved, or just someone in the past who died that was important to both of them.

It's been too peaceful last few chapters..... I have a feeling shits about to go down real soon....

Americans being assholes is definitely a stereotype though. (Also being fat and dumb but I don't think obesity is really a concern for heroes who physically transform and he seems reasonably intelligent.) One which he seems to rather fit here in comparison to Superman or Captain America.
