I kinda liked the original version better, going with killing off her childhood friend feels kinda random in comparaison.

yeah... made it to that point and just instantly dropped this shit...

Y'all just plain weird about that tbh. :|

I'm glad I didn't read the one shot lo/ wouldn't want to sound like that... I have high hopes for this!!!

They said it's random to kill her but the death flag was IMMENSE with neon lights and all

If there's one thing I learned from reading Gamma (aside from how it is one of the greatest yuri superhero stories of all time) is that Ogino Jun is a spastic trollface that WILL kill off people for drama and the feels, and that he/she can't for the life of them decide on a pairing that is gonna be endgame.

So if y'all are mad at the childhood friend getting killed off, buckle up because this shit is just getting started

Certainly off to an interesting start. I both look forward to the future of this series and am holding pretty high hopes for it

But this also tells me just how much I need to read Gamma

I feel that if it is not childhood fren at the start will have more development to improve their relationship, the one shot is a quick to go story

Those balloon breasts and hilariously clingy outfits make every scene comedic, it is basically impossible to take this one seriously. Nothing new here though, works like these that try to have their cake and absolutely devour it as well are not uncommon, carry on.

That's sure more dark than the One-shot.But a question come to mind, if the Kaijuus are just peoples from a pararell Earth then i'm supossing that there is both a Yorino and Youko version. Also doesn't that mean that theire is potentially the same number of Kaijuu that there is of humans ? Wouldn't be better to try to scell the whole thing. It's probably unrealistic but i want to know if those questions will be answered.

Isn't this just... Attack on Titan but with big-boobed lesbians?

Not that I'm complaining, I just wish the breasts were drawn more realistically instead of inflated like beach balls.

Very Gantz.

One would assume there's prequisites to qualifying as the "pilot" of one, or the "other side" simply can't mass-produce the presumably pretty resource-intensive Kaiju "platforms" at a rate where this would really matter anyway - one notes the buggers are all different to greater or lesser degree (implying "file to fit" craftsman-like fabrication as opposed to standardised industrial production runs), just for starters. And they seem to be incapable of deploying the things en masse in any case; whether the bottleneck is at the recruitement/manufacturing stage or in the method they use to breach the Wall honestly isn't really even important until when/if "this side" tries counterattacking through the looking glass.

Or until such a time "they" manage to find a workaround, ofc, in which case shit suddenly gets real.

So the mangaka aged up one of the protagonists to put an age gap spin to it.
So they went into the danger zone without protection and got wiped by a low level scrub, which any professional bastioneer could one shot. All this so Replacement Goldfish-chan could die off for extra drama.

Sorry, not a great fan of the story so far.

TBF it's implied that was one of the first, if not the first, cases where a Kaijuu specifically came after such cadet excursions. Implying the "other side" had become aware they were dealing with organised opposition and started looking for ways to attack them directly. (Or they just noticed someone was undoing the damage they were doing to the Wall and arrived at the fairly obvious idea of throwing a Kaiju at the next spot they detected such activity in, same diff - it could be speculated the "other world" first needed to come up with new or at least improved sensors in order to notice it in the first place.)

One would assume the as-yet still unnamed organisation running the Bastioners duly reacted to this change in tactics by thereafter giving such trainee outings proper escorts.

Their Boobs are kind of ridiculous lol. This is reminding me of bleach and another action yuri Manga i read a long time ago. Also is it only 4 chapters?

I really wonder why Ogino made that change. I really liked where the one-shot left off, and the setup in general. This feels kinda... Expected? Usual? Not to down it per say, I'm going to follow it... But it seemed like an unnecessary change.

But, I'm going to trust the author on this one since I've liked their work. Just really super curious about that as a writer myself, I guess.

I think it is for the purpose of plot line content and character development, I guess the childhood friends route would have simplified the series and made a very monotonous theme if we were going to be reading several chapters of this story. I'm just guessing though.

so since the kaiju are human, doesn't that just mean they are going to keep fighting till everyone is dead? and wouldn't that also mean when a kaiju kills one of them someone on their side also dies? calling it now the kaiju are the good guys

It's explicitly stated only some people share an astral body with someone in the "other world" (though how the Organisation knows/has inferred this is not touched upon) - if everyone did then their invasion methodology would be pretty amazingly callous, since from what we've seen it basically amounts to (attempted) unleashing of living engines of indiscriminate mayhem into densely populated areas.

The obvious corollary of which is that should it be successful metric fucktons of their own people (potentially including members of such leadership as there exists) would promptly drop dead as the Kaiju goes Godzilla on a city...

The fact that apparently every single Kaiju "pilot" is such a "dimensional double" OTOH is probably very significant to the larger story, and likely one of the "other side's" major supply-side bottlenecks for fielding the things.

It's a manga and it has a plot. Of course there's going to be an outrageous random plot twist.

Who knows? Maybe the organization they work for is the one who actually started experimenting on those doppelganger people, and it causes people on the other side to turn into those monsters. They then for some reason try to get back to the body on this side.

honestly, i found the one shot better because their boobs were drawn realistically. seems petty but seeing unnecessary and unrealistic drawing of boobs on an action manga is just so (to say it lightly) off-putting.

preferred the one shot too but the series works out well anyway. i still like it, characters will take a while to connect tho 'cause of the whole different backstory.

-just checked the artist's other works. he really draws like that huh.

high chance for this to happen tbh. the Senpai already killed her sister. why not make Yorino kill one of her own friends too?
